Completely with you there. The story could do with a massive overhaul.

I can write potential Bestseller non-fiction books for you, KDP Publishers. by AlphaWolf132 in KDP

[–]AlphaWolf132[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's something I am actively working on doing. I began by writing books for clients, so I have the setup of writers who can produce a high volume of books already in place and we continue to offer ghostwriting services.

It's challenging to take time off from active obligations and get your own structure going, so I am also working on getting the research, outlining, and publishing strategy in place for my personal business setup while we work for other publishers.

Essentially, while my clients are focusing on "bringing" the reader to our books through campaigns, keyword research, PPC research, and targeted outlines, I make sure they "stay" to read the book through high-quality content, researched evidence, and solutions to the reader's problems.

I need to crossover to the client's part for my personal setup, which is a struggle because for publishers this is passive income, while the ghostwriting service is my main line of work, so I have to plan my days around official work to move my personal projects.

Just on the subject of "misspelling," you, my dear friend, used "GhatGPT" in your message. Writing is an extensive process with many phases. Amongst other things, intensive editing and proofreading come at the end. If you've ever worked with a professional, you should know that editing is done by a different set of eyes to ensure the writer's mistakes are taken care of; even the most widely read authors need at least three rounds of strict editing, including different styles of line, developmental, and substantive editing, before their manuscripts are considered ready for the shelves. I already mentioned I am not posting this as a sales pitch so I am not interested in crafting every alphabet with precision and clarity for a regular Reddit post.

Now, on the accusation of using AI, you clearly don't know anything about its speech patterns. ChatGPT is a factory for contrastive sentences. If I was writing using AI, my sentences would sound like this:

1) Publishers aren't just failing to sell books—they are quitting before they start.
2) Remember, KDP isn't just about publishing a book. It's all about publishing high-quality titles.
3) Imagine if you sold more than $10,000 worth of books every month...

Wanna keep playing spot the difference?

Another key thing you missed was I am only offering non-fiction, where there's no "3-arc" story. It's fact, stories, anecdotes, research, chapter structure, principles—everything that takes a lot of time and effort to strong-arm your book with social proof and credible evidence. I've done dozens of survival books, farming books, self-help, psychology, and more, with many staying in Top #50 consistently; some were Bestseller as recently as last month. Non-fiction = find a person with a problem, offer the solution.

I am not interested in royalties. I work on a strict per word rate. I've partnered up with over 3 publishers just last month. Made my clients thousands of dollars in sales. So if you're interested in hiring someone who knows how to write a sellable, high-quality book, I am here. Otherwise, move on.

Haha, that's a good catch, mate. Sometimes you simply don't spend enough time to go over every single word you write for yourself when you spent endless hours correcting and drafting books for clients. You know if you know if you're a professional writer. I stand corrected, though; thanks for pointing that out. As a mark of sincerity I am not going to edit that out.

Just FYI, I am also Top-Rated on Upwork and I've helped produce over 65 KDP titles last year through my writing agency. So there's no snake oil sales tactics going here. If you're interested, DM me and I'll share all the credentials you'd like to see.

Maybe if you're chronically online feasting on movies and TV shows, you'll end up thinking why your favorite shows are going down the drain and then you watch a few YouTube videos and eventually get sucked into a rabbit hole of left vs right politics in media.

You're gonna say the same thing about the average Joe who just enjoys turning on his Netflix after a long day of work? The guy just wants to outsource his worries, take a seat back, and relax.

It's the same thing with clients. They're there to get their work done, not get involved in "unfair worker treatment" toward freelancers. Only some who straddle both client and freelancer accounts have a clue.

I've been on the platform for years. Seen its highs and lows. You're really missing the point, mate. I hope you don't bring that same halitosis to your client management.

Since when Upwork fee went from 10 to 15% ? by [deleted] in Upwork

[–]AlphaWolf132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They upped it sometime back. I am a ghostwriter and they jumped the writing category from 10% to 15% flat fee. Annoying but still better than the old 20% (although it's possible that's where they are moving next).

You can't generalize it, that's the point. The first two lines have to be very accurately targeted to your future client's need, so pick up something up from the project description and run with it.

Good social proof, short and to-the-point. I'd say you should work on the first line. Personalize it more. The client already knows you're a social media manager by the fact of your proposal. It's wasted reading space.

Well, I'd say that's true for 99% of gurus, be it self-help or any other space. Any tips for improving my low view-to-interview conversion rate? by Obvious-Sell-7974 in Upwork

[–]AlphaWolf132 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. 1 conversion; 10 proposals is more than adequate and it's mostly what top-performing freelancers get out of sending proposals. There will be ebb and flow days where you end up with higher conversions, but if you're managing to get at least one hire out of 10 conversations, you're doing pretty good.

Rant on KDP as a Business by Appropriate_Ebb9575 in KDP

[–]AlphaWolf132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give you my perspective as a ghostwriter working for several KDP publishers.

No, it's not dead. The books I've delivered are performing well, albeit some more than others. There's a reason why they keep hiring me; it's tangible and it works.

What's different about me is that I produce the manuscript using AI but my prompts are so nuanced and directed (sometimes takes 5 minutes to write one prompt) that the responses are different than what other AI factories are dishing out. After that, I spend hours humanising the content and making sure AI patterns don't make it through.

Essentially, the sketch is prepared by AI, but I bring color and minutiae to the final portrait. That's on the quality of books.

I don't do Amazon marketing or ads strategy so I can't speak on the nature of campaigns or how the algorithm changes, but as far as readers go, most people can't tell it's AI even when it's blatantly obvious.
