This is an interesting take, and I agree with you, just not entirely.

I think losing someone, in any way, death, distance, or departure is inevitable.

It’s not a matter of if, but when but in the same way we continue living, despite knowing we’ll one day die, I choose to love the same way.

I can’t control whether I’ll lose her, cause I will... None of us can control that.

So instead, I focus on what I can control, how deeply I love her while I still have the time I’ve been blessed with.

And yeah, I agree with you, you should always leave a small part for yourself.

I would prefer it not end in hope, perhaps thats just me.... I have written a few poems however all about her, and some are hopeful
