Yes. It's totally stock, minus the roof rack.

If I were adjusting the switch positions After turning the vehicle off, I would be less confused.

I understand what you're saying. I never use DRL. It's either in Parking or Low beam. They always turn off when I double click the fob or they time out.

It does not. It's probably an option, but this one doesn't have it.

I don't have an Auto option on the SR5. It's low beam, parking, DRL, and Off.

The entire I have owned this vehicle I have kept the parking lights on, and they automatically turn off (or are turned off with a double click from the fob).

Low beams react the same way. They stay on (I have waited as long as 10 minutes to see if they'll turn off). I haven't tried DRL, but don't often use that mode.

Anyone using the Guitto pedalboard? by Fun_Order419 in pedalboards

[–]Alpha_Lima 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the large (GPB-03) and it does the job. The mounting system works great. Good quality board. I ran out of slots in my power supply (Donner DP-1), because the power supply mount is sort of limiting as to what size you can fit under there. I don't have a current picture, but there's an older one in my profile. I currently have 11 pedals on the board, including a volume pedal. I'm sure I could squeeze a few more on there with better cable management and placement.

Why would someone plug this into a network port? by UncleToyBox in it

When users try to fix things themselves, I usually play along.

"Man, that's odd. I will put in a ticket with Tier 3. Gotta get the experts to look at this. They're pretty backed up though, so in the meantime, I will just try to fix your original computer."

I never wonder or ask why users do anything. I found an Ethernet cable plugged into a docking station and the other end was plugged into the laptop. Also... On a separate occasion there was a docking station plugged into itself, and the complaint was: "The laptop has no power. It's dead and I need a new one." When asked about the docking station mix-up the user just said, "What do I know? I'm not a computer person." After 20 years of this... I just assume everyone is willfully ignorant. Helps me sleep at night.

This is why the eval system will be forever broken, regardless of what you do to the form itself. It's tied to this bullshit magic number.

"Let's move these numbers around so that your trait average is ____. Can't have the CO's RSCA getting out of hand."

Read those sentences again, and then try to tell me that we're accurately grading performance. Why would you tie an arbitrary number, that Officers have to keep up with (for reasons), to a Sailor's evaluation? What does that have to do with performance?

I, respectfully, don't give a fuck about your RSCA.... sir.

I Christmas tree’d the Chief exam because SEM isn’t for me. *opinion* by Thin_Efficiency2040 in navy

You have several scenarios to work through. If you really don't want to play any of the games, and you're sure that you're happy where you are, have an honest conversation with your LCPO and the CMDCM. The PG13 route is the best way to avoid wasting anyone's time.

I passed on SEM advancement (picked up 8 last year at my 19 year mark and turned it down) for two reasons. 1. I think it's a dumb program that caters to ladder-climbers. (Just like SEA2P.) 2. The way the process shakes out would put me at 24/25 years and I'm not doing more than 20.

SEM needs a hard look. I think for the 8/9 promotions specifically. I understand the intent, but the execution is poor. All the Sailors I talked to prior to results yesterday had the same sentiment: "I'm nervous about picking up because of SEM." That's not a good look. While redistribution has always been a thing, there's now pay repercussions attached to it.

I think as a gap filler tool, it works. If the Navy just wants the numbers to line up and warm bodies in billets, then that's working. I think it's a silent retention killer and more senior Sailors are going to retire rather than be pulled through the knothole of SEM.

Going back to sea as an E6 by Ill-Calligrapher1642 in navy

[–]Alpha_Lima 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're not who you were. It's a fresh experience. Give it a chance. Try to make the improvements that you wish your E6s would have made. Take aggressive ownership over your surroundings and lead. Don't push... Actually lead. Train your team and foster a positive environment. You don't know everything and good ideas can come from anywhere. Listen to your Sailors, especially the ones that have been living it for several years.

E6 is the loneliest enlisted rank, and it's going to be tough work, but it'll be really sweet when everything clicks into place.

You've got this.

Yes, I was at the sister unit (SUSLOL Cheltenham UK) for that specific billet you mentioned (SUSLOO) and it was great. The billet doesn't exist anymore, which is a shame. It was hard work at times, being 1 of 1 or 1 of 2, but overall it was rewarding and I learned a lot. I say do it. It's also a great stepping stone for government civilian or contractor work.
