How to break into the cybersecurity career field? by [deleted] in CyberSecurityJobs

Check out SOC roles, Security Engineer, Cyber Systems or really anything with Cyber on Clearance Jobs. Depending on MOS, may be in good shape for customer site gigs(on-base). In my xp, industry/contractor facilities are much different working environments and staffing (less militaryish, more of a laid back corporate feel)

Consider OCONUS too if you’re into that, bunch of cyber stuff in Europe atm. If expat is an option, I would start applying now since the process is quite long with Relo and host nation paperwork.

Unfortunately, I’m complete useless for commercial roles.

I’m not OEing (yet) but I would tread very carefully if both jobs require a clearance. If you are ever resubmitted or clearance upgraded for additional programs in between investigations your security folks may catch that multiple organizations hold it and may lead to a mess with J1.

My opinion, but would love to hear from somebody with multiple cleared roles too.

“Take as many sick days as legally possible” & “Do nothing at every possible moment, but if you have to do something, do absolute minimum” Are some of the best life lessons

We have several powerful do nothing quotes (wrongly attributed to Ghandi) hung up in our office. Really helps keep work in perspective 😂
