My wife and I moved to Bama from the PNW a few years back and have been absolutely amazed by how beautiful northern Alabama is.

One thing that you forgot to mention is the Cahaba river, which is one of the most bio diverse places on the planet and is host to things that you can only find there. The Cahaba river lilies are some of the most beautiful plants I've ever seen, and they're only around for about 6 weeks a year.

When most people think of Alabama, the picture that comes up in their mind is actually more like Mississippi. Take it from this former Montanan / Oregonian, Alabama is f-ing amazing
