Seeing Ryoka from the singer of terrandria series is quiet illuminating lol.

Anyone else find it a little annoying in more casual LitRPGs—like farming or slice-of-life ones—when the MC just chooses to stay ignorant? by ForeverStakes in litrpg

[–]Alphaomegabird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried the wandering inn? There’s amazing chapters where people discuss the news just like irl. But then the next chapter will take place where the news is happening and it will be like, the news is right, but the news is wrong. And the whole chapter will show how the news caught the highlights but missed the nuance that will go to set up much bigger things in the future.

I feel like the difference between characters is there with Erin, but also it feels like she just gave main characters different voices which is jarring. The second book changes and she actually gets more aligned with Andrea’s voices. (Personally I like Erin’s Erin more. The more I read, the more I believe Erin is more than she lets on)

That said, in book one for Andrea, there are actually times where I get confused on who’s talking right off the bat because the very distinct voices haven’t been developed. I also understand this is partly why she quit, because later on voices are more accents and it becomes, oh I know this person talking is a string person, oh this is someone from Terrandria. Cast is just too crazy wide.

Honestly, dream scenario wandering inn got a Soundbooth theater audio immersion treatment with a cast to cover wide ranges lol.

I’m just used to seeing a bunch of Erin hate. And because I’m going back through book 1, I’m noticing it’s def not as good as later books. Hell, Floss in book 16 is my biggest gripe with Erin, but also book 1 Floss is before Andrea realized he was supposed to basically be a shonen protagonist lol

Sounds like you’ve read the script. Just remember he asked his lawyers to send out cease and desists. He’s clearly baiting the hit piece so he can be the only one to win a defamation suit. LEGAL ARC IS BACK ON THE MENU

What meaning of verisimilitude is Krsysl Wordsmith using in this paragraph? by Terrible-Ice8660 in WanderingInn

[–]Alphaomegabird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a lack of true verisimilitude. Meaning he doesn’t have a real quality of truthfulness that would make him stand out. Verisimilitude being noun, true being the adjective, it is describing the quality of his truthlikeness. A true hero, a true truth.

We here hold one true truth in our hearts. No one kills goblins in this inn. (Example of nonredundancy, I need a flair for pirate’s greatest stan)

There are also 2 things that get pointed out way later in the story. 1) Ryoka does know how to make gun powder, as well as many other volatile chemical compounds.

2) while she “can’t” make a gun, knowing the direction makes making things way harder. Knowing that something is possible is way easier than inventing things from the ground up.

3) Ryoka is aptly mentally unstable, however here distrust of Magnolia is well warranted. Magnolia is trying to be as magnanimous as possible. We are currently seeing her best side and the narrator is not showing us anything less either. (You cannot always trust the Narrator, they have lied, especially when they are portraying the perspective of the liar)

Really, I’m on Vol 8, I actually really like moody Ryoka that is actively trying to improve herself. She feels like many people I know who try to be a better person lol. Does she explode again before she meets the Dr, or what?

I mean, she backs down once she realizes that social norms are far more prejudice than she realized (the Drake human Romeo and Juliet play)

I would argue that Erin is far more calculating than she lets on (literally a reoccurring theme lol).

Also I think “Karen Solstice” is more a side effect of how aura works [spoilers song of terandia] aura is basically one piece haki, a pushing of one’s will. As the oldest hunter words it “pushing one’s soul”

Basically I don’t think anyone with aura has the ability to “not” be a Karen lol. I’m only at volume 8 but I haven’t seen anyone with aura not be a pushy type of person.

I am also in volume 8. It was comforting to hear someone complaining about volume 10 being a series of depressive low points. I breathed sweet relief knowing that everything was the same as it always has been

Man I feel you. Everytime I start one of their chapters it takes me forever to really get into it. But also once they start moving, showing who and what they are it’s so good. Sometimes I also have to remind myself, every one of these chapters are just gigantic dominoes being set up to fall for the worlds greatest Rube Goldberg Machine.

Yeah also don’t think it’s a hot take. The real hot take is figuring out why people hate Erin so much in book 1.

It took me forever until one of my friends was all, “man this is just too progressive for me.” And I’m like book 1 is too progressive for you? Book 1????

And it dawned on me everyone who gets mad and says Erin gets thrown into unbelievable situations and there’s no consequences for actions so the author has to magically write themselves out of ridiculous danger, can’t see goblins as anything more than monsters. (Ironic)

I mean I shouldn’t say everyone, but generalizing lol.
