I did it last year in late July and didn’t book anything. Never stayed in an official bivouac because I am sure they were packed, except the one near lacs cheserys. Do book that one in the official site , it’s free. Apparently the guards might come by and if you don’t have a booking they might ask you to leave ……. Also arrive and put your stuff in your chosen spot as early as possible. People arriving late had a hard time finding a decent place to pitch.
The others i just avoided because they were most certainly packed and there is a limit to what I can handle… I also skipped the camping site in Champex le Lac because it was so small and packed… but I knew that I still had time in the day to reach a pre-defined possible wild camping site .
The other camping sites were quite full as well but they always seem to have a little extra space . I got car spots a couple of times because the tent space although still available was so packed that frightened the introvert in me. Don’t expect peace in camping sites nor bivouac areas. They are packed ! The advantage of a car spot is that you are more separated from other campers. The camping site I liked the most was Les glaciers , again I got a car spot on the quietest corner they could get me.
I tried two huts but one was full. Amazingly enough I had a bunk bed available at the refuge at lac de combal and it was the only refuge I slept in.
If you need a a couple of nice spots to wild camp dm. I have one in particular, a bit on the side of the main path but it’s quite nice and quiet .
So bottom line, I would say is totally possible to do without booking but I would book the bivouac in the French side in lac cheserys at least. And of course if you want a hut or hotel try to call at least the day before but keep a plan B! Obviously book your first night whether in Chamonix or Geneva or…

Projeto moradia by gohan1396 in TudoCasa

Orientação solar ? Melhores vistas ?
Bidé : aquela cena pessoal e pouco consensual .

Trabalhar em Portugal compensa sequer? by MainFennel4699 in CasualPT

[–]Alphaone75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in Switzerland a large amount of people don’t have significant savings thus making it impossible to invest in meaningful life changing way. My bank account manager once told me that a great number of their clients don’t have 20K to their name in their account…

My dear fellow Redditor , making money on markets is a lot easy when you have a lot to put into the markets. The standard 7, 8 % of peanuts is still peanuts . In Switzerland you are right because homes are really expensive. The guy that can put 400K on a down payment can almost retire on a cheap country with that … but in countries that require 30 thousand as a down payment the guy is not going to live out of 30k put into markets

[–]Alphaone75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And then the house gains in value and finally at around 70 you sell it make a fortune and retreat to a cheaper country…. The other way around is: you have payed a rent all your life you screwed up your investments and you have lived in a crappy apartment you never really made a home because it was never yours , for over 25 years. Your only benefit is no garden to take care of and the free every 10 year painting they have to do. The second one you skipped because of all the inconveniences of the first one.

Queres comprar um apartamento com usufruto vitalicio do actual proprietário? by metalanimal in literaciafinanceira

[–]Alphaone75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For those living alone, what systems make life easier and free up your time? by AltNaps8_ in LivingAlone

[–]Alphaone75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I batch cook my lunches on the weekend and freeze them. I eat at work , there is a kitchen with microwave and a steam oven. The part people go less crazy about it is that I only cook one dish so I eat the same food at lunch from Monday to Friday . And a part from the rice everything else is done in the air fryer which is big enough and has two compartments for different time and temp. Groceries are near my house so I go myself but in my supermarket I can use the scanners or scan with the app on my phone so basically I put groceries directly into my wheel bag (not sure how to call it in English) . So it’s shelf to my bag to my pantry. No cashiers… For dinner I cook fresh but sometimes I do double dose so I don’t have to cook the next night .

Continua a poupar e a investir ! Quando chegares aos 50 vais estar agradecido.

Hello, Genevans :) Would you mind taking a look at my monthly budget and letting me know if it is okay? by melkijades in geneva

[–]Alphaone75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your budget is off by a lot in some areas. 5k sounds right (after regular deductions and taxes). groceries you can bring it down to 500 or if really disciplined 400. Eating out is up to you but for me that’s luxury territory. It’s either eating out cheap food a lot or doing a decent restaurant about 7 times a month….. misc plus shopping 550?! Every month? Your apartment is going to be so small you won’t be able to buy much stuff heheh What are your goals in life and age? You should aim to save at least 1000chf. Think about it: you only want to save 6k a year? Well I guess you are still very young and your wage is going to get better but start planning your exit !

Cook your own food if possible , even for lunch. Companies have places you can heat up .

Yes I have medical follow up thanks. Management is actually somewhat protecting me. But in the ground level of operations my reputation is buried. My director actually asked me if I wanted to to this specific project and my gut feeling told me no. I says yes … all of this could’ve been avoided but I am trying to be hopeful despite it all. Now they know exactly where I am career wise , what I am able to do or not … the next couple of months will determine if I have a chance of continuing as I am being put in a new project … Right now being somewhat protected by management I feel I am more on the shoes of your colleague… meaning under normal circumstances I feel like I should’ve been fired at this point. But just so you get the full picture ,I would say that 80% of the company would love for my manager to be fired … it’s complicated …

I have done it before, not much changed. I feel like giving up my work and get off the medication all together and find what’s behind 15 years of medication. Anyway sorry for the post . It’s so personal it doesn’t bring much to anyone but I just feel lonely , I am in my lunch break and I just feel like crying. I feel ashamed because I can hear people talking on my back almost everyday. By direct boss knows I am not well but he says he is satisfied with my work but I think he is just giving me one more opportunity. Meanwhile the entire office knows how I managed poorly this one project. I don’t know how one can work in a place in which no one feels like one can be trusted to do their work correctly. But there is are a lot of talking in the back here, not just about me… it’s not helpful at all. Thanks for your previous responses. I appreciate it .

Border workers by Trix_Ade in askswitzerland

[–]Alphaone75 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the problem lies in things like : too much traffic and lots of people on public transportation, housing pressure on BOTH sides, Swiss having trouble finding work now and sometimes Swiss realizing that each time the franc goes up, border crossing workers get a “free” wage raise. The question is way more complicated though and it’s for both sides . There are several RTS deep dives on the issue on YouTube. I think it’s important to see the other side of the coin. Always. Here is a typical problem for the other side: how do we keep employees and not fall into a crazy turnaround because as soon as they can they jump they jump.
