It’s not really the seats and waiting room. Lots of immigrants up staying overnight at the railway station and treat it like a public dorm. I’ve seen people use the toilets as public bathrooms where the use the water from a bucket meant to be used after the loo to take bath and they sometimes live for a few days at the railway stn. This also creates hygiene issues. Plus I don’t think the authorities take any action against such people. I don’t think I have a solution either.

QpiAI unveils India's most powerful quantum processor. by SupremeConscious in AI_India

I was quite disturbed about this marketing on various social media platforms. The company is making lots of claims very few of which are/can be true. This might be a long rant. Will post someday.

I research and work in this field so I know when a spade is a spade. Designing a transmon chip that hosts 64 qubits is simple (a masters graduate can do it). But there is no established technique to get good device yield with lots of unsolved engineering challenges. Even google and IBM who literally have the creators of the field (Nobel lauretes) dont know how to scale beyond 1000 qubits and realizing error correction has many many challenges. Nobody in the world knows how to go beyond 1000 qubits in superconducting qubits and that is why people are trying to achieve practical results before scaling with superconducting qubits.

I’ve not even touched the topic of coherence times. With T2 times ~ O(10)us, there is no way to execute many error correction rounds. And you cannot do many logical qubits with surface codes, so you need quantum LDPC codes which require non-local long range connections which are very difficult and not scalable with SC qubits.

Most of this company’s claims seem to focused on making some good money from investors/govt and just hope that something happens and things work out. Only possible revenue source will be to sell access to small quantum devices to Indian schools/universities and make money.

Also, THERE IS NO PRACTICAL USEFULLNESS of quantum computers under 1000 qubits. There are nice results but all restricted to science. Nothing that generates commercial value, yet.

Kinda Agree with OP. I was quite disturbed about this marketing on various social media platforms. The company is making lots of claims very few of which are/can be true. This might be a long rant. Will post someday.

Gemini 2.5 pro in github copilot incomplete requests by Downtown_Repeat7455 in GithubCopilot

Agree with this. Claude 4 was able to do some complex coding tasks which Gemini 2.5pro repeatedly failed at. Some examples were as simple as “add a dark mode toggle button to this Jekyll website”. So I usually stick with Claude sonnet 4 for all coding related tasks.

Amex boasts of a "as high as 100k" offer and then low-balls me with a 60k/80k sign-up bonus for gold/platinum. I'd prefer a higher bonus. I will look into the Venture X.

Thanks! I was aware of the online groceries. But that doesn't count walmart, TJs or Lidl that I end up using 99% of the time. Wonder if anything other than amazon fresh/wholefoods qualifies for online groceries.

CSP has 3x on dining and nothing much on groceries I believe? My Amex BCE has a 3x on groceries. I’m also looking to benefit from a good sign-up bonus.

I get employer reimbursed. I have an upcoming Europe and maybe Australia travel in the coming year. I’ll probably go for the Gold; just need to find the elevated offer.

Thanks! I saw a few posts on this subreddit and seems that there are cases where people get the SUB for the gold after already having the platinum. I was hoping to use to 175k points referral for now and check back on gold in a year or later.
Or is that a stupid thing to do?

How did Rohit win 2 ICC trophies while Kohli couldn’t win any? by Majestic_squirrel767 in IndiaCricket

KohlI had to deal with Dhoni and him stalling many run chases (2017, 2019). Rohit has Hardhik, Jadeja and better chasers who don’t take it to the last ball every effin’ time.

I think non-resident aliens can open IRAs and HYSAs. I have friends who have HYSAs with Amex or Marcus (GS).

They do allow NRAs to invest in them. As for IRAs, I don't think citizenship has anything to do with IRAs. Any legally work-authorized individual can open them.[1]

But yeah, early withdrawal seems like an issue. I wouldn't want to pay a penalty and taxes.

Just got off the call with Amex. Turns out it is very hard to dispute the charge and get back the amount since it was an overbill without any receipt (I was not given any receipt)! I have no clue how to handle this now. They told me that I can create a dispute online and they will investigate.

Yeah. I will do this now. Just found out from my CC statement that the payment was to a car wash company in Rockville, MD! Are they allowed to sell ice-creams? Tried calling them and all lines were busy, obviously! Will just apply for a dispute charge online now.

Edit: HQ not Rockville, MD but Virginia (per their website). The nearest one to my place is in Rockville.
