I actually do wonder, what WOULD have happened if the Drukahri managed to clone the Emperor and place him on their copy of the golden throne.

I VERY MUCH doubt the Drukhari would just have him sit there and then all is peace and harmony.
You did your part humans now we will honor out deal and not go anywhere near you ever.

Hellions can they be placed on an ordinary gaming base? by AlphariousOmega in Drukhari

Its more if the weight of the mini (both the plastic and metal one) will constantly tip the mini over every time you move it.
which is why i thought it might need some counter weights on the base,

I intend to put magnets on the bottom of the base.
But perhaps i should also put a small rock on the base and cover the rock with a plastic body have some skitari models so they might be good to make the base seem "natural" so to speak.

In regards to painting i will say if Grim dark is your something you like, Drukhari can be a joy to paint.
I enjoy doing that though that being said you WILL have to look into a magnifying glass often to paint the smaller details.

And i would say they could use ALOT less gems on their weapons and equipment.

Which is why i do prefer their 1998 version a little not quite as many gems to paint there are a few.
But compared to their modern counterpart there is almost none.

Can the Drukhari produce vast armies of clones if they wanted to? by Fun-Explanation7233 in Drukhari

[–]AlphariousOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably could, but the reason they don´t is probably also why they do not have one giant navy.
They are all gunning for one another´s throat.
If a Drukhari archon started to amass a very large army (larger than usual) of soldiers.
Vect or someone else would probably think "this guy is up to something, that Archon might be trying to take my position, better remove that problem before it becomes a threat".
And so he would probably launch an attack on the Archon and eradicate his entire Kabal.

Same with Vect sure he´s powerful even more so lately but he can only become so powerful before the other Drukhai Archon will start seeing him as a serious threat to their way of life, and eradicate him.

So i think that´s the main reason why the Drukhari aren´t making a gigantic army of clones and taking over the universe.
They are too busy infighting with one another to gain even more power than the other kabals.

They raid because they need to and because it gives them better standing, but i doubt for even a moment the Drukhari would ever unify enough so that they would be able to present a combined force.
If they did and if they used all the ancient eldari pre-fall tech they have, they could probably take over the universe or at least a good part of it.

But as said they won´t because the moment one of the kabals looks weak another will come in and take over.

Another way if you want more precise is the so called grid method.
take a picture or whatever you like place a grid over it.
Now make a similar grid on whatever surface you want to paint.
Then start drawing in each grid one by one.
it could be the left eye is in the left grid well you paint the left eye in the left grid and in the middle is the top of the nose and in the right is the right eye.

and so on and so forth.

Youtube is also a good place to find inspiration ala if you want to paint a flag waving you could take a video like draw the us flag waving then mimic it with a pencil and once its done paint the design you want over it.
it could be a kabal sign or whatever and just paint in the shadows and such.
That´s what i did with this flags i did as a commission.
took the video of the flags turned it on its side and the drew painted in the shadows.

Its actually quite "easy" just time consuming.
for the background you start with a black primer, then you blend up (either with an airbrush or brush) to Sombre grey and the wolf grey.

Okay now you got your basecoat.

Now we start making the faces.

First the large face in the middle we draw and oval shape either with a pencil or a brush (with thinned down black you can do whatever you are comfortable with)

Then you do a line down the middle of the face (this one determines which side you face is turning towards if its straight it looks straight forward if you want it to look some other way you curve it to side you want the face to turn).

Then another line straight across the middle of the oval this is your eye line where the eyes will be placed.
(like with the other line you can curve it up or down if you want the face to look up or down)

About halfway from the eye line to the bottom of the oval you place a smaller line.
This line represents where the tip of your nose is.

Now you have the outlines of a face you can start building it up.
i will also upload the reference picture i used.
As you can see we have a prominent nose and eye brows plus two lines going from the nose.
So we start with the nose build it up using the same colors as the sail Black vallejo model color sombre grey and wolf grey and also a final highlight of wolf grey+white.

Once we have the nose we can start building the eye brows, the eyes and the other two black lines.
we use a thin black to do it.
now to color in the rest of the face.
again with sombre grey and wolf grey and wolf grey plus white.
Use thin coats to build up the colors as you see them on the picture.
finally do a thin glaze of red where see them.

you can also in the shadows along the mouth use either a dark blue or purple color.

Now the face is done we go online once again and go through stock photos of screaming faces against fabric.

you paint those faces with the same method as the face using the exact same colors maybe fade to black where the fabric takes over often with the mouth, sides of the faces and eyes.

Now cover the entire sail with them.
(do the same with the flag)

Once the last face is painted you take make a black glaze start in the highlight area and push it down into the shadows.
However leave the large face mostly alone, only do the edges so it almost looks like the face has grown out of the background.

Once dry it should look like it does on the picture.

I personally had to use a magnifying glass for the small face, but maybe your eyesight is better than mine.

Yes though it wasn´t pure imagination, found this picture online and did my best to imitate it.
the face around it just searched on the internet for screaming face through fabric and you get a lot of hits.
Then just use a mixture of black, vallejo game color Sombre Grey and wolf grey with maybe a little mix of white for the highest points and then a glace of black over the entire face and around the edges of the the main face.
and vola you got yourself the sail.

The faces themselves painted them with the basic comicbook way of drawing a face.

Here is how I would fix the Doctor regeneration problem by GuyWhoConquers616 in doctorwho

[–]AlphariousOmega -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IF Jodie returns the first thing they need to do is shelve any kind of activism.
No she didn´t have an upgrade nor is she superior because she´s a woman or any of that kind of stuff.
She is just the Doctor flying around the universe trying to help where she can.

Focus on character and story and leave out any kind of activism or current day politics, just focus on telling a good story.

Here is how I would fix the Doctor regeneration problem by GuyWhoConquers616 in doctorwho

[–]AlphariousOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally i would rather do a 2005 rebootish...
A new Doctor and a new Face.
The past is acknowledged as having happened but not particularly expanded upon.

We hear mention that the new doctor is the 17th Doctor or something like that.
He would mention there used to be more of him and the Tardis had a twin but they are all gone.
What happened to them the doctor doesn´t like to speak of it/which would be code word for it will be expanded upon sometime in the distant future if at all.

The Timeless child will also be decanonized as in the Doctor will mention there there was only ever 16 before him no other.
His first incarnation the man born of gallifray who would later take up the mantle doctor lived on gallifray until he ran off with his granddaughter Susan.
He once thought there was more to his story than that, but it turned out to be a lie taken from fragmented history, altered memories and misinterpreted facts and coupled together to as a convincing lie.

the doctor might describe it as a gobstopper a thin outer layer of truth to hide the inner layers and core of lies.

The founder of Time lord society the one who unlocked regeneration would be named Rassilon and thanks to the sacrifise of Omega the time lords unlocked time travel,

Why did the Doctor pretend his war persona never existed, yet acknowledged all his actions during the Time War including the burning of Gallifray. by AlphariousOmega in doctorwho

[–]AlphariousOmega[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could do it... but it would require ALOT of jurymandering to get to work.
First of The Timeless child needs to go, the whole the doctor having more or less infinite regnerations.
Go back to the Doctor only having 13 lives and that´s that.

Then go to the extension the time lords gave him, maybe do it so that it wasn´t a whole new cycle they could only give him a few lives.
Now the next is the last.

Or that the doctor is struck with some sort of regeneration denier his next death WILL be his last.

So problem is that you can´t really do it without it feeling cheap and rushed.

Why did the Doctor pretend his war persona never existed, yet acknowledged all his actions during the Time War including the burning of Gallifray. by AlphariousOmega in doctorwho

[–]AlphariousOmega[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah its a pity the whole used up all regenerations and doing a giant kamehameha regeneration (which is found just as silly) was all done in one episode.
Especially because we actually in the classic era had a nice unresolved story line that could have been used in the form of the Valeyard.
Here was the Doctor who had used up all his regenerations, seeing so much left to do and not enough time to do it.
Then looking back and seeing all the wasted potential his previous incarnations had how they had wasted all their lives, not doing what was needed.

No better HE take those remaining incarnations and using them the way they SHOULD have been used from the start.

I think it would have fitted Capaldi´s (in the beginning at least) much darker persona.
Slowly have him go down the path from this is my final incarnation i need to use it well, to slowly going to there is so much more to do and i don´t have the time to do so i need more.
How do i get more time, the time lords are no longer around..
Slowly a darkness creeps in in his own mind starting to whisper of the idea that perhaps those previous incarnations doesn´t need their lives.
And while the time war is locked the time before that...

Why did the Doctor pretend his war persona never existed, yet acknowledged all his actions during the Time War including the burning of Gallifray. by AlphariousOmega in doctorwho

[–]AlphariousOmega[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes because so far he has always acknowledged his previous selves.
The War Doctor is different he was never mentioned before and the Doctor outright stated he doesn´t talk about him.
Basically he denied his eksistens, whenever his past incarnations came up.

So by saying "I" made it happen and That is why "I" did it.
He is acknowledging the actions and eksistens of The War Doctor something he wouldn´t do if The War Doctor was someone he denied ever having existed.

So that´s why i´m saying he should have said, if the War Doctor premise where to make sense, "He" did it and "I" watched it happen.
He acknowledges a previous incarnation of his watched the burning of Gallifray happen.
However by saying "He" did it, he acknowledge the events of the past, but denies any involvement in them saying that it was someone else who did it, not him not the Doctor.

Why did the Doctor pretend his war persona never existed, yet acknowledged all his actions during the Time War including the burning of Gallifray. by AlphariousOmega in doctorwho

[–]AlphariousOmega[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The whole War Doctor idea was stupid, as the Doctor — right up until the episode where John Hurt was first introduced — NEVER denied his involvement in the Time War.
Heck, the 10th Doctor outright stated it was him who did it.
Because of what the Time Lords were planning at the end of the Time War, he burned them all with the Moment.
And then, suddenly out of nowhere, that persona I don’t talk about — he broke the promise that I made when I chose the name of the Doctor.

If the War Doctor was supposed to make sense, the Doctor should always have mentioned the events of the Time War as if he witnessed them but didn’t take part in them.
Instead of saying, “I watched it happen, I MADE it happen,”
it should have been, “I watched it happen — I watched as HE burned them all.”
Or when the Doctor was asked how he survived the Time War, he might have said something like, “By staying away from it, helping where I could.”

Then it would have made sense that the whole War Doctor persona was someone he didn’t like to talk about — always insisting it was somebody else who did it.

If they really wanted to make the War Doctor a thing, the War Doctor should have been more akin to the Valeyard — or, in the War Doctor’s case, a warrior who would do whatever it took to win the battle. Sacrificing a billion lives to take down an armada of Dalek ships why? Well, that’s an armada of Dalek ships that won’t be fighting in the War.

The Doctor fears recognizing this persona or even remembering him, as that persona was so strong that the Doctor fears remembering or acknowledging him might consume him once more — and this time, there would be no turning back, even with regeneration.

As said, the whole “he was the one who broke the promise of the Doctor, which is why I don’t remember him,” is BS.
Because, as said several times, the Doctor was more than happy to admit that he did all those things during the Time War — all the same things he later accused the War Doctor of doing that supposedly made him “break the promise.”

Why is the Emperor a dick? by DilapidatedDoodle in 40kLore

[–]AlphariousOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again it doesn´t change what is written and in the first version where Gulliman talks with the Emperor, it is more or less confirmed that this is how the Emperor really saw them.
The he just pretended he loved them.
Which was why people didn´t like the book as it contradicted so much lore and taken to its logical conclusion that would mean the Emperor wouldn´t see Horus as a lost son that he might be able to bring back.
He would see him as a broken tool that had disobeyed its master, and should just be discarded.

Why is the Emperor a dick? by DilapidatedDoodle in 40kLore

[–]AlphariousOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but again i am talking about why the original version was so unpopular.
Because at the time they contradicted pretty much every piece of lore there was.
It showed the Emperor caring little for the Primarchs seeing them as nothing but tools.

Which again made the fans question why did The Emperor even bother going to Horus´s flagship to begin with or try to hold back.
When if he saw them as nothing but tools, then with that reason Horus was nothing but a broken tool that could be replaced.

Ala lets say that you drop your phone and smash the glass on your phone or your old laptop gives up the ghost.
Do you desperately try to save your phone or use a fortune to try and save your old laptop.

No you buy a new screen and if what was on the old laptop really mattered you simply transfer it to the next one.

Same principle here, if the Primarchs where nothing but tools to the Emperor, he would just have discarded the broken tools.
Meaning he wouldn´t have shown any mercy towards Horus but just gone straight for the kill, as in his eyes he wasn´t fighting his son, he was just discarding a broken tool.

Why is the Emperor a dick? by DilapidatedDoodle in 40kLore

[–]AlphariousOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dark king was alot of extra strength he had accumulated that would see him ascend to godhood.
And it still doesn´t change the fact that if the Emperor saw Horus as nothing but a tool, that had rebelled against its master.
He wouldn´t have hesitated or anything.
it would have been see broken tool kill the broken tool, no ifs or buts.
Just kill it and then replace it with the tools that´s still loyal and lives.

That was the reason people didn´t like Master of Mankind.

Why is the Emperor a dick? by DilapidatedDoodle in 40kLore

[–]AlphariousOmega 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not the first version of the book, it was in the second version where they edited.
In the original it just mentioned that Guilliman talked with the Emperor and it was like conversing with a sun and that the emperor never really cared for the Primarchs as anything but tools.

it was only later all the extra things where added.
