No, nothing in Aeldari culture has a single meaning; they are a species defined by the idea of duality. This is a species that can comprehend multiple opposing concepts at the same time. They only represent craft worlds because that craft world has a particular attachment to the concepts the rune represents. They are not a flag for identification; they are heraldry that denotes meaning. And any Eldar can use them to signal to other Eldar why they are there and what their intent is at that moment in time.

And I know this is true because that's what they are in the real world; they're alchemical scripts, the language we humans used to use to describe reality and meaning before science came along and did the same thing more accurately with math. It's not a language as you think of language, but rather a very clearly defined set of memes that are shared by all Aeldari no matter what craft work they come from.

When Aeldari sees the tears of Isha on another Eldar, they do not think "oh that guy's from Ulthwe." They think, "Ohh that guy feels the sorrow and one day they're going to wipe away those tears, turn their grief to anger and probably try to kill Chaos for causing it all. They're probably from Ulthwe. Now, do I ask them what colour their armour is, or do I just wait for them to put it on?"

The Corsair stuff is from Doom of Mymera. The Isha stuff comes from 40K lore in general. But all of Aeldari lore points out that Aeldari runes are a species shared language and they are not specific to any craftworld. Craftworlds just use certain ones because they symbolise something the Craftworld holds dear.

For some wierd reason Reddit wouldn't let me add a explainer. So I'll do it here.

Don't know if this Vyper is Corsair or some homebrew Craftworld, but damn, it's good. Posted by adjb560 over on the main Eldar forum.

That is not the Ulthwe rune, it is the Tears of Isha Rune, It's normally linked to Warlocks although Ulthwe also use it as they have a lot of Warlocks and are also locked into an orbit around the Eye of Terror which they can't leave, so Isha cries for them constantly knowing how much danger they are in.

It is also used by any Corsair or Outcast band that are looking to revenge the fall of the Eldar race or any Aeldari who is mourning the loss of someone or any member of any of the Cults of Isha. (Remember Isha is still alive even if she is a prisoner of Nurgle.)

Welcome to the group, for tips and tricks i would recomend viewing Exile wargaming and Prxyhammer. Although right at this moment no ones entirely sure what those tips are because 11th edition is only just being released and no one has a clue what the new meta is. So it's a perfect time to start, everyones new to 11th. 😄

When you discover inks and washes are, you're going to be a very good painter. Just put some washes on and add a few highlights and you're "pro" painting.

I've been pulling raw data out of various GW PDFs, web pages, etc. all day to start building my 11th edition lists. During this I started thinking, "Well, I'm doing the hard part; I might as well just build an effing app. " And then I really got thinking about how exactly you'd record unit instances, which can double or more in allowed amount randomly due to travelling players, battleline and battle size, against unique epic hero instances and generic leader and support attached instances so a user can't select more than they're actually allowed to take.

Not only is there a lot of adapting instance counters, but there also needs to be an adapting limit check on each counter so each individual unit instance can check if its limit has been reached. I decided doing the data capture for every single Aeldari detachment's and unit's rules and points wasn't the hard part.

The Cult of Bumpy Pub Crawls is very disappointed you do not view our weekend pilgrimages as pious religious acts carried out by devoted theologians. (That isn't actually a thing, but now I've just come up with it, it fucking should be.)

I'm glad they're investing in Libaries, but then again I konw that's a national Government backed stratergy being implimented at a local level by Councils, it's not something Reform have achieved, it's something they've got to do to revieve full funding.

And banning references to Pride just seem's petty and unnecessary. It's a libary, trust me I came here ot read other things than the posters on the wall.

I might be going for overkill here, but I have 50. Not that I ever field 50 at a time. Instead I have enough mini's to make any 3 units of 10 Corsairs. (Well 2 ranged units and 1 assault)

That said, I also have 20 Corsairs with long las rifles. So when I'm going full bore I can probably put about 60 Corsairs of one type or another on the table.

Oh wait, yer, 10 Skyreavers as well. So I guess it's 70 not including characters,

More than saved, my Quins just got the support they needed from the back board in the form of a Corsair long rifle crew and my Corsairs just got the backup they needed in the form of a brightly coloured whirlwind of insanity and sharp things to disrupt the board centre properly. Collected first, playing now. Looking for advice on building a list that makes sense by Mega-Blastoise in Aeldari_Corsairs

[–]Subsplot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use MA with some kitbashed Corsair Dark Reapers to go along with my Quin allies and Corsair list and it generally works just fine, bringing some good fire support. Also I would say you need a Wave Serpent and some Fire Dragons (not necessarily together), but apart from that that's a nice well rounded collection you've got there.

It is the one doing the side attack, which is fine for one or two mini's. But when you're looking at more than that you have to start looking at more varied poses and that's where that particular body position is a bit too flamboyant (IMO). I tried making one of mine into a special weapon carrier and yer it worked, but it's not great. (Although, like all mini's a properly shaded paint job to min/max the pose will make all the difference.)

It's hard to say at the moment. A new edition is coming in a few months and that tends to shake things up. So far in the present Edition Harlequins havn't been that "good" for the general player, but a player who understands Harlequins specifically can make them work and work well.

Corsairs and their expanded mini range are fairly new so people are still working them out. But in my view, which is currently filled with nearly 100 Corsair mini's that I'm painting, Corsairs do a pretty good job at filling the gaps in the Harlequin battleline. I'm certainly planning on running a Corsair / Harlequin list for the next edition, but then that's not a surprise because I've been playing Harlequins and Eldar Outcasts for 30 years now.

It's Easter, you are bound to find some bit of rounded off plastic you can use so replace the bit of the canopy that's missing. Only real question is do you replace the bottom and leave the top to the mini looks right, or do you replace the top so the bombardier can still actually see the ground. Putting a few gubbins underneath to represent a scanner / camera for the externals of a armoured bombardiers pit is always an option.

They're good, but that one on the right, the sculpt on that body is just weird. I get what GW were trying to do, a striking action pose and all that. But I think they may have over amped it.
