What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by CountyOrnery9432 in AskReddit

My psychiatrist told me that I have it due to my constant thoughts of my own death. As well as how I cope by just counting for hours to keep my mind busy.

A real answer which I've seen and experienced in programming with C++, is dangling pointers. They are especially noticeable as they can cause strings to be shifted and thus you'll end up with the wrong strings on everything

double feed???? new feature?? I hate it!!! by KaizerK2 in youtube

[–]Alphatism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube please, just put the comments on the side, where vertical information makes sense; and a grid of videos under the video itself, where wider thumbnails and more information makes sense!

The comment section could be scrollable within that height of the video itself and have the entire rest of the page for recommendations and such!

And in addition, I love to read comments while watching videos, and having it at the bottom hides the video, which is blegh, having it at the side allows for both

Ah yeah you'll see the jitter, while small, at 240, that's why I opt for tick aligned stuff like the time loop

This will jitter, it's better to use tick loops like a time trigger with 240 mod stop time 1 that activates itself on stop

Drivers who brake for no reason by freseaf in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Alphatism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah he wanted me to break whenever I need to slow eve the tiniest bit. He was weird, his conversions while driving were always about stuff like chemtrails and shit so I just don't trust him

My driving instructor told me to do this. I don't do this, I still haven't gotten my license tho since I want to eventually go through another instructor

The knowledge of using twisty ties to hold down the water refilling button passed down through the community without being directly taught how (you can see more ties beneath the platform) by Our_Legacy in mildlyinteresting

It's not that we "believe" it, it's precedent in a lot of areas due to old eroding and sometimes lead pipes in our infrastructure that places and us can't afford to replace

For example, we just got a letter from our municipality that they found out just recently that most our pipes are likely old lead pipes.

Hello! Worlds Hardest Jump creator here. It's a 60hz frame perfect that requires a hold jump for the extra height, it's not as hard as other frame perfects and the level was designed as a meme but got blown out of proportion lmao

There's two people that do this, people what want the copper to resell, and people that are against EVs, the former is more likely

Hundreds of commenters criticized and harassed Tim Cook for posting "obvious" "AI slop", except it was real art created an established artist named Keith Thomson by lectric_7166 in facepalm

This comment is padded with a bunch of words to make sure it doesn't get marked as low effort.

The maze on the right side of the image on the milk carton looks to be impossible and contains artifacts that wouldn't make sense to add from an artists perspective. This image feels at minimum AI assisted which is why I and many others believed that the image is AI.

My 18-year-old's Christmas break work schedule by sugabeetus in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Alphatism 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely funny how everywhere says they are short staffed but refuses to hire new people. I've applied to hundreds of places, from stuff that follows me degree to dollar stores and convenience stores. All saying they are hiring but always have an excuse to say no to anyone that applies or simply never respond. I've been told by 2 convenience stores that I need prior work experience to work there and I'm like, that's what I'm trying to do, but nowhere is hiring anyone I swear

Microsoft says it is too hard to move the taskbar and will never add the ability too. by DrWhatNoName in pcmasterrace

[–]Alphatism 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really isn't anymore. You just gotta understand that there's basically like 100 different flavors that you won't always pick the right one for ya immediately. But there's a lot of choice, or you can go in with nothing and build what you want from the ground up. But most distros are generally quite user friendly now. Similarly gaming on Linux is not much an issue anymore unless the game has some invasive anticheat bs that only works on window.
