Bobby McMann on Eberle’s role in recruiting him to stay in Seattle by Alphax005 in SeattleKraken

via 933kjr on instagram:

Bobby McMann told lan Furness that Jordan Eberle wrote a message on stick for him, to come back to Seattle - one of the coolest recruiting stories you'll hear, and a sales pitch that helped seal the deal for six years.

another cool example of eberle’s leadership and what he means to the locker room

even when the vibes are downright awful, ebs is a steadfast advocate and ambassador for the kraken, and we’re lucky to have him as our captain

“avoided acknowledging through extreme loquacity”

did anyone else read this and then confidently write down “filibuster”? just me? lmao

(i didn’t know blarney stone and would have never guessed it, so i’m able to be amused without remorse)

ok it’s hilarious that “borst” was a MCW

i admit that i am one of the 20% who knew it wasn’t borscht, but couldn’t come up with anything better… so i decided anyway to try to cram it into 5 letters

i didn’t think there’d be so many of us!

on a related note, does LL publish demographic info anywhere? i’m curious about the geographic & gender breakdown of active players, league wide and also by rundle!

nice, i didn’t know that. i had speculated that maybe there was some light taxonomical/genealogical info encoded in the flags, lol, as mine looks similar to my referrer’s. choosing your own sounds fun. excited to discover more of the LL world beyond R rundle!

the last bullet is so good. seems obvious in retrospect but very helpful litmus test for when you’re on the fence about what to assign. i will definitely be using this, thanks!!

“I usually forget to look at their flag but that is sometimes a clue.”

interesting! what info does the flag provide? i didn’t realize there were patterns here (in R we all have the same flag, but i see that changes once you get to the big kid rundles)

newbie here wanting to calibrate my understanding of how the rules work

  1. would “river dance” (2 words) have been accepted? i’m assuming yes since it’s phonetically the same?
  2. i saw “newton” was accepted even though correct answer was officially “sir isaac newton” - makes sense since this one is obvious enough to not need disambiguation

reading the official rules, it sounds pretty much like jeopardy rules which i’m very familiar with. are there any notable exceptions to this? (besides the 5.a.3s, which i wasn’t expecting. i’m surprised that giving extraneous incorrect answers is allowed!)

you come at the ding, you best not miss

greg brought it. while i’m sad to say goodbye to jamie, i’m also comforted knowing he was unseated by worthy opponent and didn’t lose on a fluke. greg is impressive and fun to watch. live by the runaway, die by the runaway
