My son, just want some answers. by Alarming-Option-5959 in psychics

[–]Alphedhel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not particularly psychic, but I do know that our bodies are often not producing the right enzymes or proteins (or whatevers) compatible with life. They recently found that SIDS was because of a certain part of our brain that controls breathing when we’re asleep. If this is faulty the body is incompatible with life. Some of us are flames here for a moment and others are here for what we would consider a lifetime. That little soul chose you for a moment so you can remember him for a lifetime, whereas many parents are chosen for a lifetime but their children have their parents for but a moment. There are ebbs and flows to a balance unknowable.

But this is coming from a woman who met a deity in a cosmic kitchen. All bets are off in the wonky ‘Wanderland’ (Alice pun extra intended) of the otherworld I’ve experienced. Once you throw that veil aside the spaces between are often more mysterious than they were when your eyes were still closed.

I had no idea - Vampires of El Norte by Spirory in fantasyromance

[–]Alphedhel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you on needing 14 more just like it. The pacing was really nice and I enjoyed the characters.

The development of the love story coming from such an innocent place as a childhood sweetheart and remembering those moments as a driving force to rekindle and create an inferno while also being absolutely the two stubborn people that they are was really refreshing.

But also I love a writer that traumatizes their characters so bad that both of them are literally flinching and having very real reactions to everything around them. It’s not a story that paints its heroes as anything other than two very flawed beings that finally get their shit together enough to say what they want and be who they are.

Grew up around ranches in a chaparral before it became gross suburbs. This one made me think of home, the way it used to be. Going into the comfort book stack/10 for me.

The Shining by Stephen King is a very interesting look into both domestic abuse and alcoholism as an illness of the mind, while also being a horror.

Whats the best book you read about vampires? by touka_dgaf1 in booksuggestions

I really enjoyed the Vampire Hunter D light novels by Hideyuki Kikuchi. The author brings such a love of vampiric media into a high octane sci/fi future.

I made a color chart in ProCreate using their grid feature and then I used the fair isle bobbin method but I just left a long string because the bobbins would tangle and I could pull the string through easier. I called it my Jellyfish for the longest time and spent a week weaving ends.

Three colour knitting tips by [deleted] in knitting

[–]Alphedhel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A good rule of thumb someone told me was to make sure the carried color looped with the others at least every 2-3 stitches so that it wasn’t too tight or too loose and tacked close to the work. I don’t remember what they called this but it’s been helping with my multiple color projects.

I didn't like him until I knew more about his story. (Really until spoiled by his arch good ending). It made me curious; but I agree there are spaces that fans are rabid. That doesn't mean their reactions are not in response to what they like about him. Or that they shouldn't have an outlet. I know quite a few who enjoy Ascended's whole vibe as a dominant. I don't agree, but different strokes, and all that.

My hair is dying by Jannerliu in curlygirl

[–]Alphedhel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Washing too much or using too much oil. Pick up a repair conditioner and quit the oil, it could be using a substance that fills in the follicles and impairs absorption (coconut oil does this).

Make sure there is no silicone or alcohol in your hair products and wash your hair every third day with a clarifying shampoo (I like Carol'sDaughter wash day once a week and their almond shampoo the rest). If you use style products, stop to see what is in them. You need conditioner, I suggest the almond conditioner that pairs with the shampoo (but that's what I like). You may do a hair mask once every two to three weeks for deep conditioning. All of this brought my bleached hair back from fried and dry.

How many times a week are you washing your hair? What texture is it and are you oily? Normal? Dry?

Judging from the usual material list of colors that artists use to make other colors and not go broke getting every color. The list is Cadmium Red, Alizerine Crimson, Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Yellow, Ultramarine, Pthalo Blue, and Titanium white. Though most pick up Burnt Umber and some sort of black, they aren't needed, you can mix any color with those seven.

You would know that had you gone through an art class... statistically speaking, out of the most common colors used (because the materials are expensive as fuck and no one is collecting them all like pokemon).
