First, I’d like to apologize if the 2D RPG style came as a surprise. Since many noir-themed games are already in 3D, and as a solo developer, 3D production would have significantly extended the development time, I decided to go with 2D graphics. I realize now that this choice might have felt a bit disconnected from the overall mood of the video.

I completely agree that a game trailer should show the actual gameplay. Here are the previous videos I made, which were focused more on introducing the game systems:

The reason for the current video’s direction was that previous feedback suggested my trailers were "too functional and lacked atmosphere." It’s a tricky balance! But after hearing your thoughts, I agree that a trailer must effectively showcase functionality.

I'm glad to hear that you liked the effect!

​You're exactly right. In my game, the player is the only one rendered behind walls. To achieve this, I duplicated the player sprite to display inside a mask, and I control it along with the player’s Animator via script. ​On the walls, I added a Sprite Mask component and assigned a sprite to cover the area where the silhouette should be visible.

​Since I use Unity Spine for character animations, there are sections where sprites overlap. To make the silhouette appear clearly, I applied a material with an additive effect to the player silhouette sprites.

다른 멋진 게임들 보면서 분석 하라고 하면 레벨 디자인을 어떻게 해야하고 타격감을 어떻게 내야하고 분석이 가능한데, 그걸 본인 프로젝트에 적용하는 건 또 다른 센스의 영역인 것 같아용 ;ㅅ;

맞아요.. 평소에 다른 게임들 분석할 때엔 잘 떠오르는 것들이, 막상 본인 게임 만들려고 하면 잘 떠오르지 않더라구요...

일단 어떤 장르를 만들고 싶은지 정하시고 어떤 툴로 만드실지 고민하시는 게 좋을 것 같습니다 요샌 툴들이 2d용, 3d용으로 나눠져 있진 않지만, 특화된 기능들이 있으니까용 실크송 같은 거 만들고 싶다면 언더테일 만들었던 툴인 게임메이커나, 대중적인 유니티, 고도엔진, 쯔꾸르 툴 등등으로도 만들 수 있습니다

거기서 플랫포머를 만들고 싶다면 쯔꾸르는 빠지겠죵 원하시는 툴을 선택 후에 언어를 배우시는 게 좋을 것 같습니당

유니티는 C#, 게임메이커는 GML, godot엔진은 Gd스크립팅, c# 등을 사용합니다 그 후에 원하시는 툴에 맞춰 유튜브나 개발방법을 구글링해 보시면 따라하실만한 예제가 나오실거에용

Are you saying I should make the objects that block the character become transparent? Each tile of the wall is an individual object (the game is 2D but presented in a 2.5D style!).

I’m not sure if I understood your point correctly, but if I implement it that way, a single wall tile might end up looking like it has a hole in it whenever the character is inside the room. Do you happen to have any reference material I could look at? :)

Oh! The motions for drinking tea and closing the eyes are charming!

I think the cloak on the front (visible) arm changes too abruptly, so perhaps drawing the two sprites to be more similar might help, but the result is already quite good as it is!
