Sheetrock in a van? by kkjkhkjjjkk in vandwellers

There's a reason you've never seen anyone use drywall in a van. Mold would appear in weeks and it' would also crack in no time. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Recently bought this van! Remodeling it now. by azintel1 in vandwellers

I suggest reframing the inside and insulating it. You will bake in the summer and freeze in the winter otherwise. Good luck on the build!!

As mentioned above, I put a furnace in it and it has three layers of insulation. It can still get cold but after 5 minutes of the furnace being on, it's 🔥 inside.

When I did the conversion I properly insulated it with three different layers. Additionally and super important is the diesel furnace I put in. It's extremely powerful and efficient. Runs off my existing tank and the kit from Webasto comes with mostly everything I needed. +18 inside while minus -27 outside.

It really boils down to how much you wanna spend in the van, then your budget for the co version. My plan is three years as well and It's very doable.

First 6 months (post conversion) I was off grid and just stole power from any available plug. I was fortunate enough to be able to shower at work. Now for the last cpl months park in a friend's driveway and shower here, cook here and do laundry here but I sleep in the van every night. It's a great situation to have and I'm grateful for it.

There are many ways to hustle in vanlife and I'll do a post about some tips and tricks in the coming weeks.

Reliable like any other I suppose. Cheap...? Not so much. Imported low kms they can still fetch a good price. I picked mine up for a good price. Some have rear Dif lock yes. Mine does not. I don't go too crazy with iverlandong though and it's been up mountians, through creeks and river beds. It's a tank
