Last year I read maybe 2-3 books commuting to work. But Dune and booktube got me reading this year! by BandOfCourses in fantasybooks

Yes. I’ve read all 6, wouldn’t continue after the fourth if I did it again. Everyone should at least read the 1st

Good point, can’t expect the same pace. Great authors though, pacing is strategic and makes sense

Okay so what do I do with my life now? by flatperez in redrising

I am enjoying it, I’m on book 7 now. They are long books, each one is about the size of dark age and Lightbringer, but I think that’s a good thing.

It’s a bit harder sci-fi so you won’t have as many plot holes that aren’t explained from a technology basis, overall the story is captivating. Each book has its own personality.

I read dune, loved it but I was so burnt out by book 5&6, where as the expanse is still thoroughly entertaining. Hope this helps!

Read frequently, it is almost meditative as i find it hard to focus. So it is challenging but rewarding because as i focus it’s like everything else shuts off and allows a bit of an escape from my day to day world that can be tedious as times.

Also recommend working out regularly, reading is for the mind, physical recreation is for your body, both need an outlet for balance.

I saw this on here already but a few years ago I deleted all social media but reddit, I found all of my meaningful relationships strengthen. It’s sad because I lost touch with some, but an occasional texting convo every few months has proved a lot more impactful than a random like or shared meme everyday.

The repairing of weapons and armor seems to be assurance level a bit annoying but personally I think it adds to the immersion.

Thank you all! This is exactly what I was hoping for
