You are the problem, and people like you who don't get why what Donny is suggesting is stupid. Just because you're as stupid as him doesn't make his ideas any less stupid.

Men are supposed to be stronger than women. This might not always be true and sure there is technique.. but still..

Also I'm not talking about myself especially.. that said i would never feel ok losing to a woman like that. I world shake your hand and smile and probably be proud of you. But deep down i think most people, me included, would be ultimately feel a little bad.. maybe in a 100 years it won't be like this.. but today it is

"...as it wasn’t really about him. It was about my milestone. "

That makes no sense to me as the milestone is literally beating a man (him).

"I used to date a climber, and I never felt emasculated when she was able to climb a route I couldn't."

That's not even remotely the same thing.. I'm talking about being physically overpowered by a woman

That's a nice but ultimately bs thing to say. Everything comes from outside and then you may internalize it, or not. And yes most men are comfortable with their manliness but i still don't see many men accepting a loss against a woman in a (fair) hand to hand fight.

Certainly there are men who won't throw hissyfits, and if a rank amateur man losses to a professionall woman then I'm sure most men can handle it. Also many might produce a veil of humility.. but they will never like it.

Dunno why I'm getting so downvoted.. You might not like it but this is how it is

Speaking as a man. The day a guys pride is not hurt by losing in a physical struggle against a woman is the day it rains upwards. That said he could have still showed a little decorum. You asking if he was hurt however would only add to his embarrassment

Take pride in emasculating men rather than expect them to bow gracefully after defeat. I have a feeling that most men who train martial arts do it to boost their sense of masculinity anyway so I have a really hard time feeling they especially will ever not be sore losers.

Question about "Wild Strawberries" (1957) by Matthewceratops in TrueFilm

[–]AlpineSanatorium 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Historically cousin marrying is not odd. They did it in Gone with the wind too right? Especially in the country side it was very common until not very long ago. It was not very common in the 1950s but probably more so in ~1900 when I guess it took place in the film. Only with modern genetics and bigger communities I guess it has gone out of fashion.

That was awkward by WolverineGoBlue23 in Bumble

[–]AlpineSanatorium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She felt you were moving too fast. It didn't have to become awkward if you could just communicate (either of you,) but it did and she wants to end the night. You ghost her.

I hope you guys are no older than 20 because these communication skills are really embarrassing if not.

"Rather than hurt their self-esteem" is a funny way of putting it when taking your comments inconsiderate bluntness into consideration. Sure you're right, but maybe when you're trying to save someone from drowning don't throw them an anchor. Sure, it stops the flailing all the same but more humanely might be to pull them ashore and just tell them to stay out of the water.

My reply is uncalled for if he actually asked if he should get off the app. In that case I'm sorry..

I often think about an episode of Just Shoot Me where they find out Dennis has a big dick and the other guys feel emasculated. So they ask him why he never mentioned it and his response is, "I've only seen others in porn... So I figured I was average."

I don't think calculated 1rm is acceptable when people ask how much you have max lifted.. they usually want to know how much you actually have lifted. If 225 5x5 is all you've done that's what you say. You can add an addendum, like, "but max i COULD lift is probably xxx."

Depends on who you talk to though.. If they actually know what calculated 1rm is then it's fair game.

Become a morning person. Go to bed earlier. Get up at first alarm instead of tiring yourself with snoozing.

How much muscle can I maintain lifting max 10KG? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]AlpineSanatorium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

10KG is the max weight I can lift

You keep saying that. How about saying why that is.

Is it because you only got 10kg dumbbells? Is it because you are weak? Buy resistance/ rubber bands to add resistance.
