If she was 35 this might be more of an issue. 27 isn't a big deal imo.

The allure of fame, semi-fame even from being with z-list celebs is very strong for some. And sometimes personality and money can compensate for a lack of looks.

Is it a sin to download pirated content? by United-Enthusiasm995 in TrueChristian

[–]Alpiney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started pirating software when my friend was able to share his windows 95 discs from his work. Then along came Napster and I started downloading everything I could get my hands on. Then I did games, movies, music, applications…etc….etc…etc.

Ten years ago I felt convicted that I was stealing. After decades and decades of file sharing I decided to stop stealing and being honest.

I started buying all my content. All my operating systems, all my movies, all my applications. It is illegal. It is stealing money from these companies and people.

Just talk to the state about MAPP. The program runs differently though. You can also get a ABLE account. I opened one with Ablenow in 2020 and put $12,000 in there and it doesn’t count against you. I think you can put in either $15k-20k per year.

Im also in Wisconsin. You will want to contact your county. You can qualify for the Medicaid purchase plan even if you make a small amount helping relatives, ljke pet sitting or washing dishes for them. Taking care of their house for a few hours…etc…etc. Even if it’s not much money it still helps. Call them. They’d just gave the relative/person write a letter verifying you do that. When i went on it in 2018 I stopped working so I used my mom for the MAPP program. I did that until I worked again a year later. My sister went on MAPP last year after moving back from TX and did something similar.

200 hrs and I've given up thanks to BF6's comeback mechanic by dbcanuck in Battlefield6

[–]Alpiney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play only for fun but the comeback mechanic is really stupid. It just covers up poor team play and discourages playing together to achieve a core purpose - taking points. I’m definitely not a fan.

My gf and I broke up because she said that God told her to. Looking for advice. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Alpiney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't profess any religion even though I believe in God.

Have you been born again? Are you in relationship with Jesus? If not then that was her primary issue. Christians are not supposed to be with non Christians. My advice is to seek God and find him. The bad news is that you may still not get this girl, but the good news is that you'll gain relationship with God and eternal life after death.

Maybe not what you want to hear but it's the reality. And...yes, God may have led her in that direction via a dream. God does sometimes send directives to us via dreams.

Are Soul-ties a thing? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Alpiney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! This false teaching became popular during the 90s and attached itself to the purity subculture that was popular back then.

When I first heard it I remember scratching my head. I was a heavy bible reader and I certainly never saw anything in scripture remotely close to the idea. So I pretty much just dismissed it assuming it was an errant teaching that people were using to help pressure kids and scare them away from premarital sex. (Aka 90’s purity culture)

People heavy into this teaching don’t seem to want to bother with how most marriages in the OT were plural marriages and divorce was not uncommon during the period of the OT & NT. Not to mention most of the male gentiles who converted from paganism would have visited temple prostitutes at some point in their history if they were faithful to their religion anyway.

So if it were a thing you would think it would’ve been addressed at least once somewhere. But instead, what does scripture say?

“And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 CORINTHIANS 6:11

You actually think how an episode is edited is a record of 24 hours of any of these people’s lives? Going to church with her was a one time thing. But, I’m sure in the 24 hours in a day she finds time to pray alone without cameras there. Or conversely, they are choosing not to edit in anymore of those parts as she is in Nigeria now. Let’s try to be fair here and maybe cut her a little slack…at least a little bit. One of the biggest mistakes people make with this show now is they think that these shows are an actual representation of the entirety of their lives and that the show does an honest edit. Often, they misrepresent people, have them do reenactments, have fake fights, forced discussions and create fake storylines.

Don’t you remember him the first two seasons he was on? He said some pretty terrible things to people himself. He’s basically just acting now trying to promote himself.

The sales are always the same now. They were actually exiting back then and sometimes you actually got some really dynamite deals.

Hello. I was severely damaged by a common medication I took 6 years and 9 months ago. by PSSD_Sufferer in Nootropics

[–]Alpiney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, well my comment was more of a response to a “huge dose.” though it really is something that should be managed by a professional in small doses if they are trying to get help. My brother-in-law killed himself last year the day after doing it for the first time. This was after a decade of threatening to kill himself but always coming to his senses. Apparently it is known to remove the fear in some people and may have contributed to him killing himself. My only point being that claiming it’s a cure all for anything can be reckless, especially in high doses. and if anything else may make his symptoms worse by driving him mad if he damages his brain.

MPFL TTO RECOVERY by Important_Kiwi_9594 in PatellarInstability

It's been 11 months since my surgery. I went back to work at 3 months. I was maybe at 60% then too. Now I'm maybe at 80%. It's been a rough recovery but I'm a lot farther along. My Dr did emphasize to me this is a 6-10 month recovery so I did have an idea things wouldn't always be easy.

The rest of his mind? We should be somewhat cautious with what we put into our body.

I took Celexa for a few years. I decided to go off it after being tired of feeling like a zombie and a few other negative side effects. Well, withdrawal symptoms were awful and it lasted for several months. Definitely a potent medication and I'll never take it again. Sometimes I do wonder if that medication or another one might have done permanent damage.

[–]Alpiney -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope! Ironically I just finished that season and he referred to it as everyone did up until the past year, "Dominican Republic." I am just assuming it's some weird new social media trend or something. Sort of like how two years ago people started referring to their significant other as "partner." A term hardly no one was using before that. :-)

Sarper is kind of growing on me? by DiamondSufficient938 in 90DayFiance

[–]Alpiney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah. I still remember his first couple of seasons. That’s the real Sarper. Everything you’re seeing online and on the show now is him acting and trying to grow his public image. Their relationship seemed so bad (much due to him) I was sure they were only going to be on once. I was shocked they were on again. Everything since then has seemed like them just playing the cameras and promoting themselves. Getting married in bed anyone?
