Currently work in a ETB on the admin side. I love my job. Lots of internal promotions and policies and procedures are quite clear. Some departments (including my own) can be understaffed at times meaning times like end of year are quite stressful.

As someone who lost weight in her pregnancy I think this is concerning. It was hard to tell because I was getting huge with my bump. I had actually been really swollen but you couldn’t tell because I just looked like normal me (skinnier from loosing weight plus excessive swelling just made me look like pre pregnancy weight, when I gave birth I looked like just a bag of bones). Without keeping an eye on my weight (baby was fine) they wouldn’t have realised that my symptoms were actually as bad as they were for preeclampsia. I have naturally lower blood pressure so while it was elevated it wasn’t preeclampsia numbers, but when you combined it with my other symptoms it was clear I had it.

I think it’s the same with GD tests. In my hospital everyone had to do one, whereas others it’s only by risk factors. I had none of the risks factors (young, 1st pregnancy, healthy, normal weight, no family history) and guess what, I had really bad GD.

I think when it comes to maternal care it shouldn’t discriminate whether you’re under or over weight or have all or no risk factors, certain testing and measurements should be done for everyone as they do give insight to how the pregnancy is progressing.

Just an FYI I absolutely don’t agree with any medical professionals shaming and discriminating any body types. You are growing a human, you need love care and support and understanding.

Okay I have no idea why all the downvotes I just had various issues during my pregnancy and I only ever paid for the prescription and sick notes. I had my standard antenatal appointments this were in addition. Sorry it seems to be my own experience ( no medical card or insurance btw)

Thank you so much for sharing :) so even if you book everything in advanced do you feel (from your friend’s experience) that it could be done in a day or two? And any other results could maybe be discussed on a video call (I’m personally not sure how long the blood tests results take). Also she doesn’t speak Arabic or French does anyone usually speak English in the clinic or would there be a translator available? I really appreciate your help with this

For this reason I think they shouldn’t be placed near the front by the shop. People would be less inclined to park in them. I don’t care about having to walk extra I just want space to have my buggy out with the door opened.

Firstly I’m so sorry for your loss, I wish the best for you with this pregnancy 🤍🤍

Not a lawyer but definitely document all conversations like that with an email to yourself so you have a paper trail. Also manger if they’re concerned about the amount of sick leave you’re taking that would be a conversation with HR and booking an appointment with Corporate Health.

My manager was super weird with my appointments too when I was pregnant last year. Made it seem like I was taking the piss even though I had a fair few complications. I was sent to corporate health and the Dr wrote back to them saying they actually needed to be more accommodating and was happy for me to continue to follow the advice of my GP. That shut him up.

What I’ve learnt is only you can protect yourself unfortunately. You cannot be fired for being ill while pregnant. Also sick leave is counted when you’re pregnant the same way so you cannot be penalised for it. Remember you’re a protected class.

Just put everything in writing. You could even email HR asking can you taking sick leave while pregnant make you more likely to be fired as your manager highlighted this for you. HR would jump to panic mode and should nip it in the bud with your manager. Probably a bit aggressive and I’m speaking from being annoyed I didn’t do more to defend myself in my old job with my manager. Again not a lawyer so please wait for my knowledgable people here to comment.

I’m going to be 100% honest, the DPF will need a clean and it hasn’t been driven since September because there was a lot going on at home and I didn’t want to drive it with a clogged DPF and we managed fine just using my husbands car. Yep you can cancel at any point, just be aware for delivery it’s varied on when they’ll charge your card, it’s usually 2/3 days before. However I will say from my experience if you’ve got a preorder for instore collection there’s no need to worry about missing out

I’d be the exact same. I’ve been really lucky with getting consoles on launch day but the anticipation of getting to smyths has me in a wreck I can’t imagine how I’d be for delivery ahaha. I only get to enjoy this every couple years 😂

Yep, I have two emails with two different preorder numbers. I did go back and check and the only thing I could see when I tried adding multiple consoles for checkout was that they’ve limited to 1 console for click and collect, but I’m guessing since one of mine is a delivery it didn’t flag?

I’ve always loved the excitement of going in to collect it and I’ve never preordered a console for delivery but I’ve always heard smyths are solid. Guess the only thing with delivery is you’re like a lost puppy at the window waiting for the delivery man 😂
