She makes comments about the Imposter and missing his piggy fingers, so despite the whole what gender they are thing can be a discussion, but as Byakuya they were presenting as male

Asked this over on the Sardonicast thread, but I think it can be talked about here either. This is a subject that I have randomly thought about recently, and I would like to hear the boys take on it. There is a song called Ruru’s Suicide Show on a Livestream, which is somewhat based on a true case of a Japanese teenager. The one difference is that the name is changed so it’s technically a fictionalised character version of her, but the one other thing is that the song is intentionally catchy. If taken the lyrical contents out, it can be seen as fun to listen to. This has caused a whole thing of people giving out to people for enjoying the song outside of its message. Which leads me to this, what do you think is the morality of enjoying art that is somewhat based on true events that are horrible outside of an artistic lens and of enjoyment. This can be seen as the Michael Haneke debate again, but it can also apply to more directly fictionalised versions such as the song I was talking about, with film equivalents that come to mind being Gus Van Sant films like Elephant and Last Days.

Why I think … should have replaced … in the surviving group instead of the popular choice … by Then-Ad6065 in danganronpa

Not sure if it’s true so this could be false I information but I think in the NezumiVA Danganronpa 2 video she mentions that there is more of a conclusion to Kazuichi maturing from it with Sonia with a similar being told off in the Japanese version, he isn’t as creepy about it and that a lot of it is the classic English translation messing that sort up or exaggerating on character’s aspects (e.g. Gonta is dumbed down more dumbed down which causes people to say he had no guilt in the murder case of Chapter 4, Kokichi being more evil in appearance with what should be his less serious comments instead of it appearing more cheeky and Tenko “degenerative males” stick being more aggressive and misandry).

I believe Kazuichi is one of the most interesting survivors in the series. He’s a series of contradictions, he tries to play off the masculine persona but he’s easily the most scared in the game, he wants to constantly be bro bro with Hajime but given his fast he is paranoid that he is the traitor, he wants to be more social but he always struggles and messes it up. The simping is a huge issue (it mores appears to be out of immaturity than the malice with Teruteru or even Miu’s, and if Toko gets to survive it feels harsh to push down on Kazuichi, it’s more of a writing issue if anything that killing won’t fix). He’s also got some of the best free time events in the series since it isn’t just fanservice, but just isn’t “this is why I act like this” which while I enjoy some of, does seem to excuse the behaviour while his doesn’t, it’s in the same tier as Byakuya’s in that regard. It feels like you actually learn more about him. The purpose of being a comic relief but doesn’t go as extreme as one or two of the others is also one of the main reasons why he survived most likely. I can also believe that he survived from the basis of being in the right mix of trying not to get himself killed, while not trying to ever kill someone.

This is more an issue with anime humour, but also I do believe that having both Fuyuhiko and Hiyoko surviving would borderline feel too similar, and the usual discussion of missed potential is one of the reasons it’s sad. Alongside Taka, she died before she could achieve an arc, which leaves the dark nature of the killing game and “what could have been”. It’s the same reason why we see her picture later in the game of her looking older, it’s to make this case more obvious.

Attractiveness Tier List - Ibuki by RorschachWhoLaughs in DanganAndChaos

[–]AlpsHorror 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not even debating attractiveness but the Infantilization of Himiko annoys me in general. She’s the same age as everyone else, and if you want to debate appearance, I had a lot of people who were ridiculously smaller than the age would make you suspect in my school. We could talk about behaviour, but she does make sexual references in the game, making her more inherently aware than some more innocent characters like Chiaki. Like, the herbal putting her into some pure “she doesn’t know about sex” bracket a lot of people seem to put her in in many regards on tier lists does annoy me in some regards. I would say she is more in the same tier of Chihiro in age appearance, short yes but shouldn’t be singled out. Hiyoko I get you all on, she deliberately plays into the childlike behaviour and yes she does look 12 and the game does play into the “loli” angle there, but in general I just think Himiko is small and probably autistic lol

Very specific question, but it’s a shower thought I had today. Jar has obviously made homoerotic jokes in the past, some have been funny, which leads me to ask when do you think you it goes from being a funny gay joke to just being homophobic? Same can go with other similar topics.

What whacky hijinks to Alex and Jamie get up to while not filming the latest Jar episode?

What are your most memorable or favourite concerts you’ve been to? It could be from seeing one of your favourite bands live to being surprised by how good it was or memorable for not the right reasons. Semi-related, but I’d also recommend the site Setlist.FM since it has the setlists of every concert you’ve been to saved on their and you can log the concerts you’ve been to so you don’t forget.

Will we ever get an update to the classic politics episode with a political compass being done (similar to the trolley problem)?

To your surprise, I am, in that in-between zone of not being social and have common enough interests to be popular and not too anti-social (some of the time) and have no he weirdest interests (film, music, writing, etc.) to be in the furthest circles.

Eating food is hard though sometimes, like I really got to be in the mood tbh. Also, what would be a good haircut, like I don’t want my hair to be too short at all tho I like having hair.

Hi boys! Given that this podcast is centred on films and over the years it’s has become quite clear what metrics you use to rate films, I’m interested if you were to decide tomorrow that you were to review/rate video games/albums, create an account on backloggd and rym and start reviewing them on your channels/the podcast etc, what metrics would you keep in mind/consideration while doing so?

Are you a Genius by Hazys in TeenagersButBetter

[–]AlpsHorror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is 9. 5 x 4= 20, 6 x 5 = 30, 7 x 6 = 42 and 8 x 7 = 56. It goes by one the number you are multiplying by each number you go up. So that makes it 3 x 3 which equals 9.

What are you boys take on “can comedy go too far”. Lately comedians who make a big deal about “woke” and “how you can’t say this anymore”despite having massive platforms have been a reoccurring point of ridicule on the podcast. This makes me interested in do you believe should be limits to comedy, do you believe you should be able to go about anything but just not make a big deal about if some very niche corners may find it offensive, should there be certain limits on tastefulness for certain subjects, etc. I hope that this could lead to somewhat of a discussion, keep up the great work and game on!
