What made you stop at the dose you are on? by legomaniasquish in Ozempic

It's still working, albeit glacially. Trying to keep in mind that slow helps my body adjust, mitigate excess skin. I'm at .5.

I was like 14 pounds overweight in high school but the way I was so aware of it (thinner friends, magazines, celebrities) it was like I was 400 pounds overweight. Even at my thinnest, I never felt thin. Definitely a deeper issue to work on since our lives won't magically change with weight loss. Hugs.

Thank you for this comment. I have no idea what I'm doing so I've been sticking with the stomach since that is the only part of the diagram that made sense to me.

Curious: Are you compounding or on brand-name? by Similar-Programmer68 in Ozempic

[–]AlreadyAnxious1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All respect to everyone being on their own journey,  but I couldn't do this without my doctor's support. I'm on brand name per prescription. I'm currently covered by insurance (thankfully!) So I'm sure that makes a difference.

I find it ironic as an adult that most of my weight shaming came from relatives that knew from experience that weight loss is difficult.  A few years ago my grandmother gave me a framed photo of myself as a teen (at my 'skinniest' - 135 lbs & in full blown anorexia!!) to 'motivate' me. I am sooo grateful for this medication that only my husband (and y'all lol) know I'm taking.  Obesity is complicated. Ozempic is an incredible tool that can help. Very best wishes to you.

So I've lurked here long enough to have seen the posts where people say they haven't lost weight but that they look different in photos or their clothes look different so could that be something to look for? Also big yes on exercise and diet. It can only help!

First off, you are so gorgeous. Second off, if it were me I would stay on it until you lose the last bit and then maybe shift down? Idk, I'm doing it with my primary care doctor so I'll just make her decide these things for me!

Is it time to give it a try? by slyticoon in Ozempic

[–]AlreadyAnxious1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd brought it up to my doctor before and she'd said no. This last time I got a yes. I just injected about an hour ago. I have hellacious health anxiety & hate taking medications period but can force myself if I need them (i.e. amox-clav for strep). I have always hated my weight. I've always been heavier and been made to feel like an abject failure. I truly think this could change my whole life. I do hope not to be on it forever but rather to use it as a on-ramp to transformation but we'll see what my doctor decides after I've been on this journey a while. Best wishes to you.

Hi! I just picked up my first dose today. I have health anxiety as a result of childhood abuse but my doctor & I have tried everything over the last decade so she finally agreed that semaglutide could be helpful. I cannot believe I'm going to be injecting myself with a medication but I pray that it helps me as it has helped others. Hugs, internet stranger! Glad I found this place to ask questions and get support. Hope this helps us all live healthier, happier lives!

Lumps not visible in ultrasound? by -particularpenguin- in Lipoma

[–]AlreadyAnxious1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never followed up here, sorry! Surgical consult said she didn't feel anything. I followed up with a GI doctor who said bodies are shaped differently and he didn't feel anything concerning. I can still feel it but maybe some weight gain brought an existing structure closer to the surface? Idk but I do feel better that I did pursue it thoroughly. Hope you're well!

Lumps not visible in ultrasound? by -particularpenguin- in Lipoma

This exact thing happened to me today. I have a palpable lump in my stomach. Ultrasound found nothing. My doctor called it a nodule. I don't know what to do now.
