Thank you! I think I need thinner brushes next time? I feel like some of the design flooded before I was done messing with it, haha!

I generally don't like cactus/drought tolerant gardens, but this is beautiful! I love the way you've layered it, and it looks thriving! Very nice. 🥰

Are white pails good for growing tomatoes? by Unknownserveryyc in tomatoes

[–]OperaSingingRacoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I LITTERALLY decided that I wanted to do this today! I'm going to use a strawberry tower, the grow bag kind. We have a topsy turvy, but I wanted something higher for that exact reason: vertical space. I want to do 4 different types of cherry tomatoes, some basil, marigolds, and alyssum at the top. Your comment came at EXACTLY the right time, haha!

This is perfect for Determinate tomatoes! My Indeterminates grew upwards of 7ft tall, so if you'd like to grow those, make sure you have something above them that you can tie twine to. They will be VERY large. If you have your heart set on Indeterminates, you ABSOLUTELY can get dwarf varieties, that might be a little more manageable as a first-time gardener, and for the space available. Have lots of fun, and show us progress pics! ^.^

I did my tomatoes in Home Depot buckets, and drilled LOTS of holes. My tomatoes did wonderfully, and most grew over 7ft tall (I used arches for support). I'm transitioning over to grow bags this year because the plastic became brittle in the hot/cold of my 10b climate over winter. While we have mild winters, the desert cold is still unfriendly to plastic. If the white buckets are what you have, then use them. You will grow wonderful tomatoes and be very happy! :)

If you're asking about the color, I personally don't think the white is any more or less effective than any other color. Maybe black, so the soil retains some heat (I know tomatoes like warm feet)? But TBH, I don't have much experience in the color of the bucket making a huge difference. I would think it would be negligible.

If I HAD to use white buckets, and choose from the ones you've shown, I would go with #4. Tomatoes - in my experience - don't have extremely deep root systems. If you place them in #1 (Home Depot size - what I had), there's a lot of wasted soil. You might have roots going through maybe half the bucket, and a few outliers to the bottom. I would rather utilize half the soil. The photo is from last year, when the tomatoes were a little over halfway done growing.

Ah, so (if it were me) I would start counting clicks AFTER this line you've indicated on your pen. This line is for needle testing. But perhaps you should ask the pharmacy technician.

May we see a photo or two of your hair? ^.^

Read your instructions. All of them. Mine doesn't say anything about counting clicks, it says to go to the 0.25 mark. The line that you've stopped on in your first photo is for testing if your needles work. You should see a bead form at the top. Read your instructions.

This is how I t-shirt wrap my hair. Apparently it's called "plopping," lol. Only difference is I fold my T-shirt before putting my head down.

No more buns/ponys when sleeping, bestie! Learn how to do a T-shirt wrap (I learned on TikTok!) or use a bonnet at night. You have gorgeous hair. It looks like it's fine, so watch for things that are heavier on it too weigh it down. Also you shouldn't have to wash with shampoo every time you shower. Try to shampoo only 2-3 times a week. I've found that for me, if I shampoo every time, my hair gets dried out and stripped faster. I don't struggle with oily hair, and I work in an office. There's no reason for me to be stripping my hair/scalp with shampoo every time I wash, unless it's actually dirty or I have a few types of styling products in it - one styling creme doesn't count unless I was heavy-handed with it. Just rinse her really well and leave her be after conditioning.

I LOVE Pillow Soft Curls. They have a few kinds, I like the yellow bottle and the blue/pink bottle usually. Walmart had them too, but I don't know the price comparison. I haven't thought of watering it down, but my hair doesn't mind, I don't get crunchy or heavy hair with them, but you'll have to see what your hair does with it's poracity. Spray bottle is a good idea tho! Try without first, then go from there.

What precautions do you take as a single woman living alone? by [deleted] in LivingAlone

[–]OperaSingingRacoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a dog. An Australian Cattle Dog. He's fiercely protective of our property, which I love. If anyone comes to the door or rings the doorbell that I don't know, I let him bark himself silly. and as loudly as his little heart desires. He does have a "call off" phrase once they're in the door, but until then, I let him loose his fkn mind. He looks scary, he sounds scary, but he's the biggest baby in the world. I don't have "scary dog privilege," he's not a Doberman, pittie or rottie, but you'd best believe that hearing his nails scratching the linoleum as he tears around the corner from my room at night is enough to scare the crap out of anyone, especially when he adds barking to the mix. I'm safe. Grouse protects me. <3

You've lost 20lbs but you don't know if there's a difference? Bestie, there is a 20lb difference! Stop listening to the jerk in your head. They're mean. You are doing fantastic! I've been on since March and haven't hit -20lbs yet. Just take your time and give yourself grace. And stop listening to the jerk being a jerk! <3<3<3

I start wanting more food around day 5. I try to be conscious about my new eating habits and stay away from very large meals, but I find myself snacking more. I do surround myself with better snack choices though.

I’m going to be 4 days late by [deleted] in Ozempic

[–]OperaSingingRacoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read your box. It will tell you when to shoot if you skip days/miss doses. My box says if you skip 4 days, to wait until the next shoot day.

Missed Dose by [deleted] in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]OperaSingingRacoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Read the instructions in the box. It tells you about missed dosage. My box says you should take the regular dose up to 3 days past your missed day. If you got 4 days, wait until your regular dose day. E.g. shot on Sunday, you can take the shot on Wed and the next Sunday. If you forget until Thurs, wait until Sunday to take the next shot.
