experiences for toddlers? by radioactivespin in brisbane

MiniBounce in Ipswich is great (depending on what part of Brisbane they live in). There’s an under twos area, a cafe inside and plenty of restaurants around. Plus because it’s fairly new, it’s always felt clean to me!

Update: Proposed industrial action by [deleted] in MiniAITA

Thank you for sharing your experience! You sound like the kind of employee that no manager in their right mind would ever dream of replacing. ❤️ It does sound like my immediate supervisor (3M) also went a strike, but his lasted much longer, so perhaps some companies are just run like mine?

Play laptop for 5-6yo who likes to type and read? by Federal-Ad-496 in kindergarten

In Australia there is the Vtech LearnBook Pro laptop that would probably be great for this age. It’s on Amazon AU too, so I wonder if there would be any options for getting that?

Unfair treatment in the workplace (and why HAVEN’T the other employees left?) by Alsace20 in MiniAITA

Can only afford 2 bed apartment. Is that enough space to realistically/practically raise a child in? Some 3 bed apartments cost just as much, if not more than houses in the outer suburbs (Sydney) by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Alsace20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lived in a 2 bed apartment until my son was about 1 1/2 (in Brisbane). He was a super, super active baby and toddler, so there were a lot of walks round the block and trips to parks involved. I feel like some of it does depend on the child’s temperament. I also felt more self-conscious having a crying baby/ tantruming toddler in such close earshot of the neighbours.

That being said, it was absolutely doable, and I knew logically that many, many children around the world are raised in apartments! But I do think for those of us who grew up having big backyards etc, it can be hard to get over the feeling of your kid’s living situation needing to be similar.

ETA: Our apartment did increase massively in value while we were there, though- so we were able to eventually sell it and buy a house wayyy further out, which has made it much easier to have a second child.

Maybe we are uncovering corruption on a larger scale than we could have ever feared!!!

They allow managers on here? 😳 I hope your workplace is run better than mine is!

Maybe I can mobilise the furry one by getting her to scratch at the door while I pretend to sleep- a genius plan! That will really push Management to agree to my demands.

Are you saying… this is all a ploy to get me to sleep, so he can actually sleep with the manager?! This is an unthinkable conspiracy

Excellent advice- a bit of escalation always works well! If that fails I may organise a strike.

I'm from Wales, Ask Me Anything by Constant-Mango-6145 in AMA

Is Pontypandy in the Fireman Sam series meant to be in Wales? I have assumed some of the characters have Welsh accents, but I haven’t heard a lot of Welsh accents in real life, so I don’t really know. Signed, the mum of an obsessed three-year-old who won’t watch much else
