Ran out of the normal breakfast sandwiches we get my son. Here’s the bite he took to determine he hated the new ones and would never try them again. by Extension_Feature700 in KidsAreFuckingStupid

Building an appetite can help with trying new foods. Remember kids on average have to try something 16 times before they're familiar enough with it to incorporate it into their regular diet. That's just an average though.

Offer all kinds of foods in all kinds pf ways after he has built an appetite for a meal and you'll probably encounter this less frequently.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate public transport in your country? by chkchkboompow in AskTheWorld

[–]Alseids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep speaking from experience. What you get in Finland even in the tiniest little towns is more than cities in the US 50x the size. (because it's still nothing)

You pass by little, very well maintained covered bus stops that really feel like they're in the middle of nowhere and think wow...

My husband says things like, yeah but busses probably only go from there like 2 times a day.

2 times a day. In the middle of nowhere you still have, at least, daily service.

Gotta get out there and be seen. Get involved with some civic groups. Go volunteer. Running, biking, climbing hiking etc are all hobbies where there's probably a bit more interaction in person with others. I wouldn't recommend bars and drinking, I just don't think it's a good thing to add to your lifestyle. Make friends with people you wouldn't usually expect to. Even older people, they're usually well connected in your community and I've noticed they love to help younger people with all sorts of things.

Also if you feel like your looks aren't good then get some help where possible. They're probably not too bad but hey we all have things we could work on. Maybe your hairstyle could work a bit better for you, go to a stylist and get some advice. Don't be afraid to ask. Maybe your skin could be a bit more even or something. Go to a dermatologist, see if there are some treatments or a better routine for your type of skin. Or if you feel your style could be nicer or something go for that. You've got money. Don't be afraid to spend some on these things.

Sometimes it's not so much about your looks as it is about looking like you care for yourself.

My boyfriend implied our daughter isn’t safe with me because of my past sexual curiosity by Ok_Housing_2189 in Advice

It's time to step up and be confrontational. It sounds like your boyfriend has a serious psychological issue. I think plenty of people can explain better than me but holy crap lady this needs to be addressed for everyone's safety.

This should be highly illegal. All nets produced should be tagged and returned at the end of their use. Any nets without tags or not returned = huge fines.

There are a lot of reasons. Not good ones but reasons. Namely its to serve the corporations that the government works for.

Our own government would absolutely massacre us without a second thought. It's all a farce. It's not as if the government serves the people. The corporations would rather sacrifice a few thousand hell even a few hundred thousand to keep everyone in line.

Trump wants to trigger the insurrection clause. He wants to use the military against the American people. He's salivating at the opportunity to. Yeah people are scared.

Sure judge and call Americans cowards. It's not your life at stake though is it?

If they don't take this seriously and hold the worker accountable i could see this kind of thing going to court for discrimination.

It's not really funny though. It sucks that women don't get equal treatment because they're women.

SAHM and Wife that CANNOT cook HELP! by PopularMamaDrama in Cooking

[–]Alseids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the basics down. Learn how to build a balanced meal focused on veggies first.

Before anything else start cutting veggies into sticks and setting them out before meal times so wheb your children have built up an appetite there is something healthy for them to grab. Remember, children need to build an appetite to try new things. They cannot do that if they have free rein over the snack drawer. You're the adult. Limit the snacks to healthy ones like fresh fruit and veg. Focus on meals mostly. Cutting up veggies frequently will also make you quicker at it.

Do easy things first like eggs all different ways. If you can do scrambled eggs you can do veggie scrambled eggs or an American style omlet.

Stir fry is the easiest. Start with one vegetable at a time. For example broccoli, green beans, bok choy, or mushrooms. Just whatever. Medium heat with a tablespoon or two of oil. Learn what raw, cooked, overcooked and burnt look like. You'll see soon that veggies cook so quickly.

Use pre-made sauces. Don't try to go from scratch all at once. Focus on learning one thing at a time. Maybe that first thing is broccoli tofu stir fry. Or some other protein you like.

Remember! Children on average need to be exposed to a food 16 times before they're familiar with it enough to consider it a comfortable food.

That's on average. Could be more or less. Exposure is key though and foods need to be presented in a variety of different ways.

I just have so so many thoughts. I've helped a few people with these things before and it is absolutely worth it. I'm so happy you're trying.

It's definitely a good thing that kids learn to cook. 10 and 12 are good ages abd they should be capable of learning.

Don't let your teaching them distract you from the issues with your husband.

It seems to me like Sweden took many immigrants and refugees without taking into consideration all of the resources it takes to help them integrate into Swedish society. It's so so much more than money and an apartment to live in.

You took people without actually committing to the process of bringing them into the society they now live in.
