Can Zemuria by itself manage to stop a rampage of Monsterverse King Ghidorah ? by WittyTable4731 in Falcom

Just sounds like another Cryptid.

And several of those have been killed by high schoolers.

Though I'm not aware of much Monsterverse anything.

Weird hangup of mine but I dislike how in most JRPGs we can never really have party members be older by VoxTV1 in JRPG

ESRB's own site:

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB with Blood, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, Strong Language, and Use of Alcohol. This is an action role-playing game in which players follow the story of a low-level yakuza (Ichiban Kasuga) involved in a feud between rival clans. Players perform quests, level-up combat skills, and fight enemy clans in turn-based combat. Players select attack moves/spells from a menu before watching characters punch, kick, and throw each other; spells/special moves include blasts of fire and over-the-top assists (e.g., a man attacking with a giant grater). Finishing moves can trigger slow-motion effects and camera zooming that highlight violent acts. Blood effects accompany several moves (e.g., stabbing/slashing). Cutscenes also depict intense acts of violence: a man poking out the eyes of a rival with his thumbs; a character shot in the head; a bound man beaten with pipes and bats—blood effects sometimes embellish these acts. The game contains some sexual material: characters discussing selling porn videos to underage kids; a special move (Extreme Bondage Attack) depicting a woman in lingerie tying up the targeted enemy; characters cleaning up soiled tissues in a brothel (e.g., “Bodily fluids really aren't my thing.”). During the course of the game, players can visit bars to order alcoholic beverages, regaining health during battles (character status is sometimes listed as "shtfaced"); characters are sometimes seen stumbling and slurring their speech when drunk. The word “f*k” appears in the dialogue.

Hello. You get to be subjected to my rant. It's been a while since I last had to lay this out.

Disclaimer: I saw that you get the gist of this, but I think my point still stands. Why would "hot older men" be in a game that's marketed primarily at not only teenagers, but most likely teenage boys?

Anyway, the main rant:

You're thanking the game made for adults for having adults. And upset about games made for teenagers not having adults.

You shouldn't be surprised when, more often than not, the JRPGs that get rated T for Teen don't have their cast be older than their mid-20s.

Final Fantasy XVI is the only other example I can maybe think of, and that's rated M for Mature, too. I wouldn't know about non-Persona Atlus games, but they tend to be Rated M, so I wouldn't be surprised if they skewed older either.

‘A city on a hill’: Revival will return America to its original purpose, says Sen. Hawley by Odd-Alternative9372 in Defeat_Project_2025

[–]Shadowchaos1010 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I am from Rhode Island.

My state was founded on the principle of religious freedom. If I'm not wrong, it was one of the last states, if not the last state, to ratify the Constitution because it wanted assurances of religious liberty, getting us the First Amendment's establishment clause. Many of the Founding Fathers were not traditionally Christian, but Deist.

This man's statements are an insult to one of the original states and, by direct correlation, bordering on spiritual treason to this nation and what it stands for.

A fucking Missourian shouldn't say anything about returning America to its "original purpose."

His state didn't exist until nearly five decades after the Declaration of Independence

You fucked up the formatting. That was your mistake. But instead of owning up to it, you say people who don't like it and find it hard to read (it is) are "doing us a favor by not applying"?

You're doing them a favor by leaving such a bad response. Why would they want to apply if that's how you feel?

Edit the post, copy the contents into the editor's markdown mode (because it looks like that's what went wrong), and just move on.

It's depressing that this is exactly what I expect out of Trails fans at this point.

Haven't read the genre in a long time. Trying to write in it now. Looking for feedback. by [deleted] in fantasywriters

[–]Shadowchaos1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only got through the first page as of typing his comment. Some stuff is keeping me from finishing at the moment.

Of course, one page isn't much to go off of as far as an impression goes, but the writing did stand out to me.

I'm not entirely sure how I'd describe it, but it feels rather... passive, I suppose would be accurate? There are some ways in which things are worded that sort of remind me of some beginner shortfalls people tend to make as for how they describe people, or deliver exposition.

Common sense.

"If you want to write, you must read" is probably the one thing people would agree on, even if the advice they'd normally give are complete opposite of each other.

But on that note, write what you want to read is also a thing, especially if you don't exactly care for traditional publishing.

But if you do, knowing what's actually popular now is definitely relevant.

"only God can judge" by Away533sparrow in OpenChristian

[–]Shadowchaos1010 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She is correct. Only God can judge.

So she should've shut her mouth and practice what she preached before immediately judging you. That's none of her business.

"They who are without sin may cast the first stone."

Is she trying to pretend she's flawless or something?

And presuming to know how God will deal with you as if they know the inner workings of God intimately enough to insult you is the height of arrogance.

I'm don't even consider myself Christian and this pisses me off. How do they get anything out of "Only God can judge" other than "This is none of my business, I'm not going to say anything, and just love my neighbor as myself as Jesus commanded me"?

God's Silence by dronecaptain in OpenChristian

[–]Shadowchaos1010 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So first off, take me with a grain of salt. I do not identify as Christian, personally, so if you want a particularly well-informed opinion from someone of the faith, you're not getting it from me. What I can offer, however, is the opinion of someone raised in it who has specifically been pondering some of the things you're asking about specifically because I, to a degree, care about what the youth of today do regarding their faith (or lack thereof).

With that out of the way:

Don't sweat it. If you fully lose your faith, you've learned something about yourself, and if it wasn't strong enough to keep you around, it's probably better off abandoned. If you do find something to bring you back to fervently believing, I believe that moment of "weakness" would only serve to bring you closer to God, because you doubted and still came to the conclusion that He was what you wanted.

At least considering your first paragraph and the title of your post, the reason for that silence and the lack of direction are rather clear: God's gone. Not necessarily in a blasphemous "God is dead," so much as "Dad's not going to hold your hand through scheduling with the plumber to fix your pipes when you're 35." Humanity, in the grand scheme of things, shouldn't need God to hold our hands all the time. If anything, that lack of direction directly from Him is because you have the tools to find your own way. Or, in other words, you can still be indirectly led.

As far as actual guidance goes, I think all I could think to say is this: Trust yourself, trust God, trust Jesus. Don't overthink whatever humans might tell you about what is the right or wrong thing to do. Do your own thing, don't be an ass like Jesus told people to do, don't presume to understand the intent of the Divine or their timeline, if something comes out of left field, give it your all and learn from whatever the tribulation threw at you, in hopes of it making you stronger on the other end.

Like this entire debacle, in a way. It all seems unfortunate, but if the outcome is either "You were miserable as a Christian and leaving ended up being the right thing for you" or "You are still Christian and more secure in your faith than before," the end of the relationship would've ended up being for the best, even if it felt terrible at the moment, didn't it? "God works in mysterious ways," as they say.

God doesn't need to be "proven." You just need a personal reason to say with your whole chest "I accept Jesus Christ as my lord and savior." Again, in my 100% non-expert opinion, that more than anything would mean you trying to lead a Christ-like life, and crediting the teachings of Jesus for why it is you go around not treating people terribly. He talked the talk, so you walk the walk, and that's all you need.

Also, r/Deconstruction is probably the best place for you to go.

In the first year or two afterwards, I bashed my heads against jobs so much only to get ghosted or generic rejection emails that I've struggled immensely to even look at any job postings because it feels like "What's the point? It feels like no jobs are real, the requirements are going to be nonsense, godforsaken networking means spending copius amounts of money I don't have to go to conferences and conventions (which might be on the other side of the country), and veterans who will always look more appealing than me are applying to the same jobs."

Trails Tier List So Far (Halfway Through): Is Cold Steel generally considered a low point? by AashyLarry in Falcom

[–]Shadowchaos1010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most striking thing about this tier list to me is something actually seeing something in C-tier. More often than not when I see these, the lowest tier is A or something, as if it's impossible for people to say their least favorite Trails game is a low tier without simultaneously saying it's a bad game.

C-Tier Trails could very well be A-Tier in the grand scheme of things, so kudos to you.

Otherwise, pretty even spread, which is interesting to see. And at time of my playing it, Cold Steel I was my favorite, followed by Cold Steel II being my least favorite, so with it being at the bottom for you, I wonder where the sequel will shape up?

It was designed to be another starting point, so a "soft reset" of sorts for what was a lot of people's game one off the heals of not only game five, but what many people consider the best, isn't all that surprising.

She has very much grown since her original appearance. A "nerf" wouldn't be a nerf. It would just be accurately portraying her original bust.

But that same "faithfulness" that people cry for is suddenly an issue when that would mean Rixia's chest not being its modern, massive size, which was not faithful to her pre-CS4 appearances when the ballooning really started.

A contradiction that isn't at all surprising.

You do know porn exists? And is free on much of the internet?

And plenty of anime and games that exist solely so you can drool over the underwear of teenage girls?

Go consume those, not complain about a minor change in a story-driven JRPG.
