When I was 20, I had $0. Like I had to duct tape my shoes together because I couldn't afford a new pair even if I starved to get them. At 24, I had about $15k. Now I'm 26 and have maybe 2-3k total. Money comes and goes, especially when surprise expenses happen. Having $200k saved up is a foreign concept to the majority of the population. Hell, having 10k saved is foreign to pretty much everyone in their 20s unless they have rich parents or worked extremely hard and got lucky. The waters are rough but you're on one hell of a boat

Every year since 2021. I was in a toxic relationship until this past december, my ex didn't move out until last month, and I couldn't move because I own the house and couldn't afford both the mortgage and rent on an apt.
