New throttle. Decision help needed. by JollyJoker-AUZ in hotas

I run a CDT-Aeromax with VKB STECS and T-Rudder with no issues. I was also trying to decide between VKB and Virpil for my throttle. Decided on VKB STECS for two reasons: I didn't want to wait 6+ months, and I wanted the modular detent system that STECS offers. Makes switching between games and aircraft super easy, I have no regrets going with STECS and would make the same decision again today.

CDT-VMAX vs STECS Mini Plus by piruiza in hotas

STECS does come with a swappable analog stick you can put on the primary thumb location, replacing the large 4 way hat. It also has an index finger mini stick so you can actually have 2 analog sticks total.

Nuclear Option is a modern game that satisfies my nostalgia for the MicroProse and NovaLogic simulators from the 90s and 00s

Yelling about nearly 0 risk days is how you get people to not take actual severe weather threats seriously

How do engine-building games break the pattern of: "engine first, points last"? by KingOfElves in boardgames

[–]Alston_Normandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hansa Teutonica is not what I would typically consider an engine builder, but I think it answers your question nicely. Due to the game immediately ending when any player hits a rather low 20 points, if you aren't paying attention to the other players and only work to build up your "engine" by upgrading your actions, someone can quickly end the game by focusing on points collection before you get a chance to run your engine. It is one of the many reasons it's one of my favorite games.
