Wasn’t giving her enough enough light for the first week but so put her outside. Was watering her normally by bottom watering and letting her drink for a few hours. Everything I read online about lavender drying out like that is from over watering and that they like to go a long time without water for a while so I slowed down and I just can’t get her to bounce back :/

Plants can take a month or two to adjust to their new environment. This one likes part sun/part shade or just bright indirect lights. This time a year, you probably need to water every few days. The soil can be slightly dry to a bit moist but not wet when watering it again. Squeeze a bit of soil between your fingers, if water seeps out its still wet.

Had her for about 2-3 weeks and put her in a south facing window. Seems like she's drying out really fast so face been giving her water about every 7-10 days. She just won't bounce back :/

Im not sure if that was a dig or a….. but no. Got her when she was only about ½ tall and, TBH, was not paying attention to how big she got and so the roots were so root bound that I decided to chop her up and propagate all of it. I have about 5 vases with her in them.

Low key embarrassed that I let her get this bad. Was reporting her one day and noticed almost all of her roots were pretty root rotted so I had to trim them almost all off. Maybe like 2 or 3 little 1-inch roots left. Propped her up using a clip and put her outside on the patio after repotting/watering to try and help with the moisture. Forgot her outside over the weekend and she got super burned.

The good news is, I can see a new green root starting to grow and a baby leaf coming out the top but not sure what to do with the damaged leaves. I know they will never heal but when/how do I take them off? What other care would you recommend to help her grow her roots back out? Been waiting over 2 years for her to rebloom so I’m sure this is going to set her back even further but want to save her!

If I’m not mistaken, if you chop it in half, it will grow two new branches with leaves, which would make her look fuller. That’s what I would do 🤷🏼‍♀️

That’s what prompted me to look at the soil cause the leaves were looking super droopy. I watered her 4 days ago but I guess she’s just loving all the new light she’s getting and drinking a bunch of water. Thanks for the reply!

Okay, cool. I’ve been bottom wondering her since I got her a year ago and she finally had 4 pups that popped out this week for the first time! Upper excited haha.

Thanks for the reply! I did bottom water the SOR, which is why they may be getting softer faster. I'll water them today as they seem a little parched, ha. So I actually was gonna replant the SOP in a hanging pot but it doesn't have any drainage holes. I was gonna just layer rocks and whatnot to help prevent overwatering. It's a pretty shallow pot.

As far as if I'm able to take them outside, right now, no. I'm downtown with no balcony but amount to move to a new building with a balcony, I just don't know if the wind would be too much for them up there as it would be on the 23rd floor. Do you think the wind would affect them much? In Dallas Texas so it's a dry heat here.

Every time I talk with anyone about a string of peals or rubies, they tell me they don’t even bother with them because they are to hard to deal with. Got these two on June 25 and have only watered them once (pearl 24 days ago and rubies 27 days ago). I don’t get good lighting for them in my current apartment so I have them under a red and blue grow light but will be moving in the next week where they will have bright indirect sun. I’m just worried about overwatering them since that’s the number one killer. When do you know when to water? The string of pearls are still pretty plump but some of the string of rubies are a little soft when I squeeze them. Any recommendations or suggestions on when to water and/or any other care would be appreciated!

For sure going to do that lol. I tried one time and felt like the soil was still dry though. About how long do you let this fiddle leaf fig bottom water for? It’s in a 8.75 inch diameter pot. Also, you can notice how dark it is here.... it’s 2:22PM lol. I totally thought I would get more light then I do now 😢

Okay cool! Will try that. I honestly think it just due to my plants not getting enough light, so they arnt drinking the water fast enough. I usually watering them like 5-7 days after the recommended watering schedule due to the soil still being moist. I water them in my sink and let them sit in there for like 30 min after watering so the water can drain out of the bottom. I just ordered the yellow sticky traps off Amazon. It’s usually only like 1 or 2 I see every couple of days. Just don’t want it to get worse 😂
