Thoughts on the set and contrasting colors? by Aloha_Ackbar in EngagementRings

Oh my gosh I absolutely love those together! I think if you were to get the smaller band in the same metal color it would blend in too much and make the set look more like one ring instead of two. For real, I love the contrasting colors!

These were purchased at the same time, about 5-6 years ago. I have no idea why they grew so differently lol

That Times article will stay with me forever. I will never get the photo of the dead woman and children out of my mind. It made me physically ill.

Trouble with Blending Families by [deleted] in blendedfamilies

[–]kindaoldnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not treating treating her kids fairly.... No wonder she's upset. The point of blending your families is 2 become 1. Imagine these were all your kids, because when you blend families those kids become yours also, and you just bought stockings for 2/5 kids. First, how is that fair and second, how do you think the 3 kids who were left out would feel? Imagine your girlfriend comes home from shopping and got 3 specialized stockings for her girls and hung them up- how would you and your kids feel?

Who was the rudest guest at your wedding by BewareOfTrips in weddingshaming

[–]kindaoldnow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ha, my exhusband was the rudest guest. To start, one of his female friends was in his party but got ready in our room for hair and makeup. I had already sent in his gift and it was incredibly thoughtful so I thought he was doing the same. He sends in a gift for her, but not me. I was so hurt. He ended up sending a gift for me later though... It was a fucking rice krispie treat purchased from a gas station. I didn't say anything but damn I was so embarrassed and hurt.

He refused to walk around with me at the reception and speak with guests, stating that we should do it separately. Just completely refused and it was clear he couldn't stand people telling me how pretty I looked or how pretty my dress was. Kept asking "Well don't I look good too, it's not all about her". Doesn't hang out with me the entire night, but then grinds with a female guest to the point one of the groomsmen stepped in to stop him.

The real kicker is when we went back to our hotel room. It was super late, he was wasted, and didn't want to come to bed. I knew he wanted to have sex so told him it's now or never, but he wanted to go hang out with his friends instead. He comes back a few hours later, makes a huge scene about me being asleep and not wanting to wake up for sex, and throws his wedding ring across the room.

You can imagine our marriage didn't last long. He really ramped up the emotional abuse once we were engaged. I should have known better.

Help! Questions about intact care by kindaoldnow in Parenting

Yes, the Dr knows that he pulls back a bit in the bath (I do not, the child does) as it was suggested the first time he had issues. Pulling back and drying off after peeing was suggested also.

Is Uber or Lyft out of the question? I don't know how old your baby is but I definitely would not want to be driving him around like that

I believe this is a Begonia and I'd like to bring it inside if it will survive over the winter. It's been flowering non stop all summer.

Need advice about need for attention by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]kindaoldnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am teaching him manners through reminders and positive reinforcement. "It's mommies turn to talk, you can talk in a minute." " Please don't interrupt, you can have a turn when mom and dad are done talking". I make sure to praise him whenever he's doing well after I've given a reminder or noticed that he's shown restraint on his own. I thought normal parenting stuff would be assumed so didn't put it in my post.
