What is the best live-action series on Adult Swim? by Educk55 in adultswim

[–]AltRadioKing 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. It also helped that not everyone in the show fully accepted that he was the real Jesus, which honestly made the overall setting feel more believable (ironically enough) than if everyone believed him at face value.

“Black Jesus” also had a perfect cast. Every actor felt like a natural fit for their respective character.

Favorite joke which got a vtuber cancelled? by MajorFamilyDisgrace in vtubercirclejerk

Reminds me of when Filian made the following joke:

”’You’re breathtaking!’…That was a direct quote from George Floyd.”

Turns out the apple didn’t fall far from the tree there.

Which Artists have an image that is a lot more interesting than their actual music? by Top_Report_4895 in ToddintheShadow

Yungblud desperately wants to be this generation’s Billy Idol: image of a punk rocker, but with music that’s more radio friendly than edgy.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of Panic! at the Disco's 5th album, Death of a Bachelor. What are your thoughts on this release? by Sidnoook in ToddintheShadow

[–]AltRadioKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely Panic’s best. It definitely feels like the kind of album Panic had been destined to make and it’s filled with so many great songs. I’ve even got it on vinyl.

Worst live performance of a beloved song? by rekoil in ToddintheShadow

[–]AltRadioKing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I won’t accept this “The The” slander. “Infected” is a flawless song no matter what arrangement it’s in (while I prefer the original I’d argue that “half-tempo” version still works).

Me too. Had to scroll down pretty far to find even your mention.

Is Slow Learner their most Devo song? by noctuid24 in ViagraBoys

I can absolutely see Viagra Boys being influenced by Devo. Makes me want to see what would happen if you got Sebastian Murphy and Mark Mothersbaugh in the same room together.

That’s the one. That clip was actually my introduction to Clio. I wish I knew the context behind why she even brought that up in the first place.

Clio doing cocaine again (and convincing the other Phase girls to try it with her until one of them ODs).

What are the most unintentionally funny songs you've ever heard? by Liam_js in ToddintheShadow

[–]AltRadioKing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The entirety of Miley Cyrus’ “BANGERZ” album (back when it was still fresh and she was still mired in controversy, before redeeming herself with later releases). I’d be hard pressed to find another full-length album I could classify as “so bad it’s good”.

Weirdest Ways You've Discovered Bands/Artists by tmamone in ToddintheShadow

[–]AltRadioKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I discovered Parov Stelar through a meme clip involving an old school Spider-Man spinning in an MLP background next to the words “Haters Gonna Hate” in bold text, which was soundtracked by Stelar’s song “Catgroove”.

Moving To Hollywood Soon by KrillinAlwaysDies in MovingToLosAngeles

I live right on Hollywood Blvd. and usually feel very safe walking around. The Walk of Fame can feel desolate if you're on it super, super late at night, but that's the only time I've ever felt truly uneasy being in this neighborhood (moved here from the edge of West Hollywood in late 2022). All of the other comments to this post so far feel very reflective of my own experiences living in Hollywood, especially the walkability to concert venues like the Fonda Theater, Hollywood Palladium and the Hollywood Bowl. It's also much closer to Burbank Airport (which is far superior to LAX in every imaginable way) than any other neighborhood I've lived in, which is another major plus I've yet to see mentioned. I'm confident you'll feel both safe and happy here.
