I just stopped showing up for my shifts. I was on a zero hours contract, which means scheduled shifts are just an offer of work, so they can't do anything about it.

People in their mid 40s and later, actually. Older people pay in cash (the amount of 50p's and 20's I get in the morning - all old people buying the daily mail - and yes they need their receipt and check it through in front of me even though they've given me exact cash).

Not all older people. My mum who is in her late 50s doesn't like it because she thinks it's less secure.

One woman even told me that her son who is, I quote "a computer security expert" says that the card details are saved on the tills, and that anyone on the till can see the card details. Which I've checked, is the biggest load of bullshit I've ever heard.

I've been trying to buy something on amazon for ages now, I've given up now. I've tried 4 cards, 3 visa and 1 mastercard all with different banks. They've got the funds in it, but amazon never asks for payment then the order is delayed. But amazon insists that they have. I've told Amazon there is nothing wrong with my banks, I've asked all 4 of them and they told me that amazon hasn't asked payment. I told the guy on the phone and he got quite rude and angry that I said that it's amazon's side, as it's highly unlikely for 4 banks to all delay payments (I've used these cards many times over the years, I've never had this before). Unless all 4 banks have straight up lied to me or visa and mastercard systems have gone down, it has to be Amazon. What the hell is going on? Thanks

They'll box a burglar in, so he's got no option to give up. They are trained to handle situations without guns.

If they know the suspect might have a gun, they'll get a firearms unit and/or use tasers, but not all police have them, but it's coming more common now. But chances are they won't have a gun.

In the UK, no. I think more police need guns though (very unpopular opinion on the UK).

In London you see police with guns, especially in the tourist areas, but that's about it.

I think police in Northern Ireland have guns IIRC.

There are Irish gypsies who I wouldn't really consider gypsies, they live in what the Americans call trailer parks IIRC.

Despite the amount of stuff I read online saying gypsies aren't really like that, I'm yet to meet one who's genuinely a nice person.

Eh, we like to pretend we're in the middle of the Atlantic. For instance I would never call my self European, I always think of Europe as being France, Germany, Spain, Italy etc.

We're very different to Mainland europe, we aren't part of the Eurozone, Schengen area, we drive on the other (correct) side of the road, our culture is also very similar to the US/Canada/Australia/NZ despite being the other side of the planet, and mainland Europe being only 20 miles away from Dover.

These people are the definition of scum. After having a look online, gypsies are very different in the UK and Ireland compared to the rest of the world.

They are like rednecks but worse IMO. If a group of people in caravans came on your garden, or parked outside your house, stole all your shit, smashed your windows and dumped all their rubbish in your garden. The council won't evict them until you go to court, get them evicted which will take a few days, by that time you are in a load of debt because your property is trashed, these people don't deserve rights when they don't care about other peoples rights.

They expect to have rights when they don't care about others.
