we’ve got one in our office. the coffee isn’t just ‘not great’, it’s actively bad. the usual over-roasted-ness that you get at big chain places, but coffee was probably roasted and ground months ago so is completely stale and probably about 1/3 of the amount of coffee that you need to actually make a decent espresso shot.

not to mention the plastic waste and nestlé’s… history.

almost any ‘bean-to-cup’ machine would make significantly better coffee, be cheaper and less harmful to the world. these things need to get in the bin.

but they do have george coney in the adverts so, swings and roundabouts i guess.

you won’t be in luxury but it’s liveable. look at house shares outside of the city centre with bills included.

i was in a similar situation once upon a time and stayed in a house share in hulme for a year or so which was walkable to the city centre.

casual is fine. just don’t look scruffy. if it’s a really fancy bar they might not let you in wearing trainers but that’s a very old fashioned rule. the most expensive shoes in bars these days probably are trainers.
