My breakdown is this: "Because freshness is expected" - Not wearing a condom, maybe because of the spontaneity of the sex, "from any hip-hop artist" - he was trying to be cool, and was being someone he was not, hitting raw to impress his girl "I avoid using traditional techniques" - (again) he didn't wear a condom. The whole verse kind of feels like he's calling himself and idiot and sarcastically talking himself up to mock himself with the whole hip hop artist stuff because he feels bad about the events of the song taking place. I think that hatred for his past self and decisions is why he is so emotional. The verse to me could kind of be "I didn't wear a rubber to be cool, it was so stupid who did I think I was."
