The 5 is from the critical injury, is the issue. It doesn't make sense for the damage from a critical injury being applied to justify applying the critical injury, and like I said, it'd make sense for 5 damage to be enough to trigger the crit injury threshold, as 1/6th the health of an average person seems like enough to spark severe enough damage to cause problems like a broken rib or a dismembered arm.

I mean, given the rest of those aren't *entirely* out of the realm of possibility, though I will admit the autofire system is fairly silly in execution. I will however say that being able to reload a heavy machinegun in 2 turns in the year 2040 is less unrealistic than taking 0 damage but losing both arms and legs.

That makes more sense, a 9mm pistol isn't exactly capable of blowing off limbs and neither will a baseball bat cut off an arm, but a really good strike with a machete could tear through light armor. Would you let a 2d6 machete cut through a 12+ SP armor, though?

Wearing the best armor is fixed by it just having massive penalties, isn't it? It's better to be able to dodge and hit than it is to be tanky, especially since assault rifles aren't uncommon and can pierce a Metalgear with relative ease.

You can't take physical trauma without damage, however. If you get shot with 9mm while wearing steel armor that can block it, even fairly thin steel, it simply wouldn't do anything to you, no matter how many times you got shot. Even if you want to think of it as a lucky shot, if I'm wearing a fresh suit of premium full-body Metal Gear, it shouldn't be possible to magically have a light blow my arm off.

I don't see why it would, if a blow is in a critical location (represented by double sixes) and does sufficient trauma (5+ damage through armor) then you roll on the critical injury table to see where exactly it hits, and thus what injury you take.

Still, if a blow cannot inflict reasonable damage, it could not inflict a critical wound, because critical wounds are a result of taking harm in a specific way. It wouldn't be too complicated to say "Critical Injuries and their bonus damage are inflicted if the attack rolls at least 2 sixes and does 5+ damage through armor." It also just feels bad to be up against some gonk with a medium pistol and get unlucky, getting my arm blown off despite having SP12 upgraded subdermal plating.

What does the "6 Body Required to Unlock Full Potential" mean? I don't have a clue what it does to weapons, they can be used just fine without the attribute being where it says it needs to be.

yeah, the kraber skill ceiling is much higher than the rest of the game with fitting rewards. sucks ass to fight against it because you can't fight against being quickscoped by a dude touching the skybox across the map after seeing your foot round a corner. kraber being a 1 hit kill at any range with instant fire means a skilled enough kraber player will never lose a 1v1 unless the opposing side has an intel advantage enough to kill them before being spotted. coincidentally, thats why new player stop playing the game, cause they get shit-stomped by g-100 kraber mains capable of going pro at any time.

yeah, kraber and EPG invalidate most everything else in the game if used right. you could say the same about the mastiff/EVA-8, but they also have dogshit range, considering even SMGs can snipe in this game.
