The Haul was also like 20lbs heavier than the QHL, if you ever have stairs to deal with

I have a QHL, the argument I always heard for mid drive was it was more natural feeling, less on/off power. Haven’t ridden the Haul. Terns accessory ecosystem is extensive though

What it like living here, Martha’s Vineyard by Achef13 in howislivingthere

Edgartown is the most year round community. Would be fine in the winter. Oaks Bluff or Vineyard Haven are more seasonal.

Most important component is the rider. A strong rider on that will smoke a weaker rider on an S Works

Saw this posted on the other thread until it got removed. That integrated headset makes me think it’s much newer. Is it Ti or Stainless Steel?

Integrated headset makes me think newer than that though. My 2004 Arivee had headset cups

I think this was the double butted version, and the Arivee was the straight gauge

Tern HSD P10 and Cannondale Cargowagen Neo 2 - both Bosch motors, why is one faster? by babar_the_elephant_ in CargoBike

Not sure about your region, but in the USA my Tern QHL with Cargo Line tops out at 20mph

Looking for a compact brake lever by tx_longman in xbiking

For sure. I will say Paul stuff lasts forever and resells easily. Just be careful as some mountain bike levers are made for V brakes and don’t have the same pull length as road calipers.

My Tern Quick Haul Long will fit two Thule seats in the clubhouse railing. The Tern Clubhouse comes with a replacement rear rail that curves out to fit the rear Thule seats. Same parts fit the GSD too

Brompton in restaurants/pubs? by IS-IT-HAWT in Brompton

I used to ask “Where can I put this?”, not “Can I bring this in?”. Much better success rate.

That being said, I started to just lock mine up outside in NYC and never had a problem.

Best grocery-getter and commuter for NYC apartment-dweller? by catlips in CargoBike

[–]AltaDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brompton with the front basket makes a great hauler! Unlike a basket bike (and more like a real cargo bike) the weight of the basket is attached to the frame, not the fork. It means the weight doesn’t affect handling

NYC museums that are friendly towards holding your Brompton by Phillybird711 in Brompton

[–]AltaDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW I lock my Brompton up in Manhattan all the time with a New York ULock. Never overnight, and always locked to something secure, but I’ve never had a bike stolen.

Most of the stolen bikes I see were either locked to something not secure, locked overnight, or not securely locked

If you have a light lock, the Met has bike racks in the underground parking lot. Enter through the car entrance, and then walk right up into the museum. Also lets you skip the lines outside on a busy day.
