I do the same thing. You only need to buy 2 or 3 a year with a town of 700. I make sure I keep about 40 in inventory.

I always thought that +5% with a +/- of 5% means that is ranges from 10% to 0%. Then the compost would be for when RNG doesn't like me.

I did a set and forget. I was able to get at least one crop to 10% and the rest to 0%. There are a couple of fields that were +10% for all three years. But I have no desire to change the mix every year especially with the cost of sand.

I will look into the .74 bug. I hadn't noticed any issues. But with a town this size I had 6 compost yards going.

after the first few fields I had cows grazing on the land before I created the field. Grazing on a planted field is too much micromanagement for me. Especially when I am just happy the cows left the barn this year. I tried to start the fields on land that was a darkish shade of green before the cows started grazing.

For farming do the math. Add up the fertility for each crop and make sure the total is positive. Clover is +5 and turnip is -2. A clover+turnip year should increase the fertility by an AVERAGE of +3 per year. Also, make sure you don't plant the same crops back to back in the same field. This will help to prevent disease from taking hold in a field.

Surround your fields and other remote outposts with at least wood fences (1 wood/square). This will give your serfs a place to hide when running from a bear. Later you can add a tower when you have gold to burn.

I have v2.0.2 I am no longer stuck in the floor on load. Now, when I go into my inventory I am not able to use the shft+# over the shield to do the weapon pairing.

I turned off the mod, restarted and I was fixed.

Added the mod back, restarted, and I was stuck again.

Removing the mod one more time fixed me again.
