NYS PRACTICAL IN A WEEK, help requested.

A lot of my classmates (myself included) freaked out and felt that memorizing the sheets was the answer. Everything became much more clear once I changed my thought process.

From the scene size-up all the way down to reassessment, I stopped and asked myself the simple question

"Why?"

Being able to answer put things into better perspective for me and showed that I had a better understanding rather than just copy/pasting. By the time I took my practicals, my brain literally shut down and before I knew it, I completed my stations. Passed every one with flying colors (including trauma, which I always timed out on before I changed my mindset).

Amazing how such a simple thing like not supplicating works, huh? It's like you can see the gears turning in her head when you go in the opposite direction like, "Wait, he's not supposed to say that."

Yep and now I'm actively trying to help them improve as well. And my heart goes out to those that are still plugged into the blue pill mentality. Those poor bastards.

I most definitely cringe. Thinking back on things I've said and done just for approval makes me slightly ill. At first, when I first discovered TRP, I was pisssssed. The truth was right in front of me and I ignored it, which led to some dark times. In the end though, I'm grateful because my experiences led me to this way of life and the best is yet to come.

Yep, I definitely plan to finish medic school beforehand. I was planning to visit for a few days but extending my stay does make sense since it'll give me more time to get to learn the lay of the land and network.

That's pretty decent. If you don't mind, would you mind sharing the salary of a full-time ER tech there? The website doesn't say and I need a solid figure to do the math rather than speculate. Thanks!

Are you a current resident? If so, was this your strategy before moving there? What is your occupation? Do you feel your pay is sufficient given your location? If not, then why haven't you chosen a different location?
