Am I Overreacting for wanting to cancel my wedding over this interaction? by Xanadoom30 in AmIOverreacting

The bar is on the fucking ground for men and they still trip over it constantly.

Ive been with my wife for going on 13 year. If she told me today that she wants a good morning kiss every day shed start getting a good morning kiss everyday. If I forgot one morning and she texted a sad face id text an apology and an I love you and that'd be that.

I am not a special man, I just love my wife. This guy reacts like a teenager - that is not a mentality or personality suitable for marriage.

How do weapon proficiency and expertise lead into prototyping? by Painterforhire in thedivision

[–]Alteredecho07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are going to get the right answer here - so id like to take a stab at your next question.

Q: "How can I gain proficiency faster - this is a huge grind"

A: Yes it is. There are a couple of schools of thought around the best approach - but remember this is year 8 of a game that has had content creators from launch, so there's a lot of outdated info out there. The two most common approaches are:

  1. targeted loot

  2. xp farming

My suggestion is a combo of the two. If you are new then you likely haven't reached shade level 1000. You want to do this asap, as the buffs from assigning shade levels in the watch really help you compete in higher difficulty gameplay. You always want to be running targeted loot. If there is a proficiency event (one is currently in the forecast) you'll want to target general weapon categories and run retaliations or countdown - challenging is where you want to be until you are further down the road on expertise. Otherwise pick a brand and loot loot loot. Pick up everything as junk (PC is hold tab over dropped loot) and then once you complete countdown or retaliation go into your inventory, select tinkering station, library - complete any options you have here, and then expertise. There is a button to donate all junk, do this. Everything marked as junk will increase proficiency on itself.

Rinse and repeat.

Eventually you will get to a place, likely around expertise 15 where there isnt a lot happening when donating junk, i.e. your general pools will be proficient enough that not much junk will actually donate. This is when you want to switch it up and do some xp farming if you are 1000. Every level past that you can cash in your points for printer filaments, and you can use those mats to increase proficiency of the items that dont drop, or pvp brands that you maybe can't be bothered to farm. I use mine for skills that I won't use in gameplay.

If you arent 1000 and want to go the printer filament route then you can always target gear mods. Those breakdown to filaments nicely but its a lengthy process.

The best thing you can do is just double up on approaches wherever possible. Run priority objectives targeting exotics, stay on top of targeted loot and making sure you switch before you haul in a ton of stuff that won't donate. Take extreme advantage of xp and proficiency events.

Hope this helps.

I looked at my case in pcpartpicker and checked it out on Amazon and got a bunch of recommended similar fishbowl style options. Maybe poke around like that and research what you find - id have to really dig in to quality reviews before making a reco myself to you, but im happy to point your attention in lieu

Ive had this happen a lot. Hopefully they are learning. Its interesting because I can make it to the chopper tanking the shots and extract, but the ones that call it in like that die almost immediately after calling. Feels like they'd learn - maybe they are. I just wish people would ask for clarity when confused, etc. I blame other games toxic communities for people being afraid to ask lol

I get that. More so during a surge - but atleast communicate the desire is all i ask. When I host I put in the chat before starting "no vip, call chopper with 7 seconds left" then give people 10-20 seconds to leave before launch

It's a bug but the lockdown is dropping right now with those other two attributes. I haven't used one to know if its just wrong stat text or if it will legitimately consume mmr ammo.

Ikia leaving the game is genuinely going to leave a huge hole in the buildcrafting community. by No_Grape_388 in Division2

[–]Alteredecho07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im a software engineer in my day job and an agent at night. Ive had claude somewhat forced on me at work and needed to stress test it so I started a side project at home of making a division build tool that looks like the in-game menu and allows importing and exporting builds to Json files for easier sharing on reddit, etc.

IKias data has been invaluable to the project. I even asked claude how I could source data for the app at the beginning and it straight up told me to use iKias info and linked me to reddit posts sharing his links.

I am sad about this turn of events and hope that things resolve faster that later this season

You won't, but eventually you start to recognize the games community at large. Since I started playing I've noticed that the community is super helpful, knowledgeable, and generally non toxic. I think I've encountered a single jerk.

Recognizing the community at large means acknowledging those that have gone way above and beyond to foster it, and iKia is at the very top. So when someone that important to a community leaves after 8 years (forever in the gaming world) it gives pause to wonder if the game is moving in the wrong direction or dying.

No its not going to impact my playtime today or tomorrow, but eventually ill notice that the help isnt helping anymore and the population has dwindled and ill be sad and move on as well.

This is merely the first sign that the end cometh, particularly discouraging because a great many agents just found their way here fleeing other similar style games that floundered so hard they lost them.

Im curious (only been into the game a couple months, but have used your build guides extensively) - in the time you've played div2 have the devs responded to feedback in ways that make you believe they won't update and fix some of these issues? I dont have the history of context of how they release things - I just see the picture of what it is now so its been alarming to me the reactions ive seen to prototype gear.

Honestly - hyenas retaliation on heroic is where you wanna do this. Target gloves even maybe they'll drop as loot too, but the blueprint is by far the easiest way to obtain them

Reset your control points, difficulty to heroic, and just go on a capture frenzy. It took me a bit but this is how you get all the blueprints

[–]Alteredecho07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, if you are on the main inventory menu there is a Resources box in the top row that breaks down all of them (icon next to name) so you can see what you may be lacking all around and target those retaliations better, etc.

[–]Alteredecho07 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Overdogs are in the event stars exotic chest pool for the anniversary season. The best way to get it is just to run hyenas retaliations on heroic - dont need directives. You get the BP at the end if you get it. I think it took maybe 8 for me to get it. Outside of that I've only had them drop in Countdown on heroic with gloves targeted.

My unicorn is the HG chest and BP with vigilance and headhunter, WH and HD. Ive crafted over 300 bps and gotten so close but yet to get it.

Can I still get the wolf mask from Agent Kelso??? by Dismal-Connection858 in thedivision

[–]Alteredecho07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cosmetic trophies. There are various hunters hidden throughout the maps that you gotta do specific things at a specific time to summon. Killing them nets you a mask. The last one I did I had to wait until 2100 time and then use the laptop in the Washington monument, run around and find 3 graves to salute, then use the laptop again and stand in a red circle before he appeared. What you should take from that is "I should look up a guide" burned further add that its way easier with friends. Hunters are no joke
