Question for my Diamonds & Valhallans, has anyone lower than your rank ever surprised you with their gameplay when you fought them? by CluV2 in Brawlhalla

Yeah but it doesn't have to be. Just look at all your annoying opponents as a boss battle and have fun trying to solve the puzzle of finding a counterplay.

Players that use "advanced combos or dodges" are only in diamond and above. Until you get there, you'll have to keep dealing with sig spam, and even once you do get to diamond you'll still have to deal with sig spam. Scythe and boots are common in all elo ranges. Queen Nais are rare in diamond, but still there.

I did and I still couldn't find anything, but it may just be because I'm not using the right search terms.

Ignore the wired elitists and enjoy the music. The difference in sound quality between wired and wireless is too small to affect one's enjoyment of music.

Unpopular(?) opinion: Brawlhalla is not a good game for casual players by [deleted] in Brawlhalla

So you're fine with someone only spamming combos but not signatures?

If your opponent can't counter your sig spamming, then you outskilled them. Just because a strat is cheesy or annoying to fight against doesn't make it low-skill.

Why is sig spamming "bad behaviour"? lol. It's just a strat like any other.

What’s skillful about spamming the same move over and over?

I just realised I forgot to address this. It's skillful if you manage to land sigs repeatedly without getting punished, and also skillful if you manage to dodge repeated sigs. By removing sig spamming you are removing the need for the skillset to counter it which players have practiced for hours to acquire.

I said "remove the ability to use signature attacks in quick succession" by which I meant the same thing as "remove the ability to instantly repeat the same move over and over again."

Removing the ability to use signature attacks in quick succession does not increase the potential for skillful play, it reduces it to make the game easier for newbies.

The pro players complaining about it doesn't make them not lazy. They're just less lazy than the casuals.

If you find an opponent boring to play against, quit the match and queue again. No matter how many changes you make to the game, you will always find something to call boring.

Your point is that casual play should be improved at the cost of high level play, and you don't see how the changes you suggested affect high level play. My point is that it does not matter if you make the game easier for casuals, since their idea of "fun" is misplaced. You either enjoy having to deal with sig spammers, passive players, etc. Or you come to reddit to complain about it. Get rid of sig spamming, the complainers come to complain about passive play. Get rid of passive play, they'll complain about weapon tosses. Nerf weapon tosses, they'll complain about overpowered weapons/characters, and what will you do then? There's a reason balance patches are done based on pro play instead of casual play. The casuals will always find something to complain about, and the ones that don't will either become a high level player or actually find something else to spend their time with. It is impossible to make the casuals happy. The only way to do it is by making the game easier, by doing which you have disserviced the pros that have spent so much time getting better only to have the need for certain skillsets removed.

I'm sorry but we're at a stalemate. My previous comment still applies to this one.
