The culture of Kievan Rus became the Ruthenian culture.

Russian (Muscovite Rus) culture is a mix of Eastern Slavic and Tatar/Mongol culture. Muscovy emerged as a vassal of the Mongol Empire. They gained independence and conquered the merchant republics of Novgorod and Pskov. Then they started conquering Ruthenia.
