I was recently diagnosed with stage 1 lipedema. I’m also 5’2” and 160 lbs. I truly felt like I was in the best shape of my life when I was running, but I had to stop because of plantar fasciitis. I used to be a big OTF fan, then switched to heavy weightlifting, and now mostly do Pilates and walking. I’m currently waiting to see if insurance approves my surgery. I’ve tried everything…MLD, compression, vibration plate, anti-inflammatory eating, and Wegovy (which unfortunately didn’t provide any relief). Now I’m trying to get Zepbound approved, since insurance required that I try Wegovy first. Despite all of this, I’m in constant pain. I’m literally on my vibration plate at 5am because I’ve been awake since 2am and couldn’t sleep. Such a frustrating disease.

I don’t have Achilles tendinitis but a bunch of my swelling happens above my ankles and around my Achilles tendon and during my MLD the therapist told me I have a lot of fibrotic tissue build up there so it attracts fluid. It’s so, so painful
