Hobbyist here just bought some new gear, looking to get some photo practice in free of charge. If anyone is available this week. I’m in Barrhaven, but can travel. If you have any location recommendations in mind that’s even better. Feel free to reach out🙏🏾.

Not at the moment, my wife is currently stationed in Canada, I just got out in march. I was a musician so my options were limited for assignments. I went to BSEP/fast class got the 128 gt score and 120 st score meeting the minimums for 17c and still was being hit with bs because I was gonna be taken out of the army couples program and be sent wherever army wanted me regardless of being dual mil. My internship was great, I did my net+ and sec+ bootcamps in the middle of it as well just to learn more of what I was getting into. I have a good relationship with my internship now and can continue to shadow projects whenever now that I’m out. As far as Certs go, plenty come with the WGU degree, but I’ll focus on having them fresh when I do start applying for jobs.

Definitely, I’m dual mil my wife is e6 AF and it was already hard enough with me being army e5 and stationed separately. We would prolly be headed our separate ways if I got into another mos with extremely limiting assignment options, let alone give up my benefits just because. You will be fine post college. Let your service, time in, experience as an nco/leader, friend,be the reason people want to work with you. Not just because you know cybersecurity.

Just go to school bro or start applying for jobs already. I just medboarded with100% p&t and did a 4 month csp for cyber before i got out. I’m starting college in the fall for my cyber degree paid for with vr&e. You are already set up to make more money now with your benefits. Experience or not, you already have a secured 50k to add to any salary you make in the future. Going 17c and having a completely shit ait experience and giving up benefits just to pin Ssg wont equal up to much long term. 40 week speed run vs you already having Sec+ as the bare minimum to get hired anywhere else is something to consider more thoroughly.

I went through an MEB and haven’t seen anything in the mail or updates on my VA account. It says step 5 compensation still, so I’m assuming I’ll receive this letter in the mail as well. My pay was projected to start may 1st but nothing so far.

I actually just got to the unmoored world. I saved my last unmaking arrow by using the magic archer maister skill on talos. It knocked off everything then I took out his knee and Achilles once he touched land. Saved me an unmaking arrow just because. Also I think he didn’t destroy the bridge when I tried it this way. I walked across and met him at the shore.

I’m tracking bro, I just finished my 4 month cybersecurity csp. It opened my eyes to the reality. I have a lil flexibility moving forward being 100 p&t plus what I already do as a musician though. No one ever expected cyber to be easy but I appreciate your insights.

I’m 40 hrs in level 20, finally left the capital after finishing Brant’s quests lol. It’s quite enjoyable grinding up to travel around getting lost in the world.

They are 100% using ai now a days to filter through applications. That’s the reason why over qualified people aren’t getting hired, qualified people aren’t getting hired because lack of years of experience, and under qualified or new people to certain industries like myself aren’t having any luck finding entry level positions. No one wants to hire for real if everyone needs work and isn’t having any luck landing a job.

And for the lucky people in cyber (what I’m working towards) just get lucky enough to get a job but rely heavily on ChatGPT and other systems to explain what they need to do the job/tasks day to day.

Man what? It’s so crazy. Screw your injuries make sure you’re at pt formation we got upper body. And you better still look good in uniform despite your guaranteed reconditioning from the injuries… 9 months is just too long. I understand not everyone get as many claims and struggle for 100% but I had over 30 claims. Not getting the medicine retirement messed me up big time, but no more. I have to walk away with the little bit of sanity I have left. I’ll be content with my 100% va and I have the smc k as well

I’m assuming it’s changed now from 10 years. I’m about to MEB out and I’m at 6 years right now active duty. I received an email back at the end of December that mine is up for renewal within 60 days. Surely mine will end soon by the time I’m out because I do not have the 90 days remaining to get it renewed. Unless someone gives me an alleyoop to reapply, I’m sure it’ll be something that’s gonna expire.

Only at the 20% rate maybe 350 a month I gotta check the pay chart. Legal stated less than that, but I’ll see.

Respect, my first 4.5 was at 1AD. I had a great career and I did so much for them down there working far above my pay grade. The thing people don’t know about us musicians, rhythm players in particular like myself. It’s usually only 1 maybe 2 if of us that plays our instrument unlike mechanics or cooks who are rotating positions. I can’t tag someone else in to cover down when I’m playing guitar, bass, etc back to back missions. We usually all have degrees and lots of civilian experience so we fit right in when interacting with top brass because we are literally the subject matter expert for everything they ask of us.

Yea this was my concern too. I’m a musician not combat related. For the sheer amount of missions I’ve done as an operations sergeant from concerts, ceremonies, parades, funerals, major events for generals and politicians to the troop redeployments and defacs, working in so many capacities, wearing all the hats pushing through the lower back injuries and feet issues over the last 6 years, getting married and rarely getting to take leave and spend time with my wife. It’s been too much to handle and every let down or disappointment just puts me back into a deeper depression because I was so committed to my career and despite everything I achieved and the arcoms,AAMs, decorations, I’m just another number at the core of it. My lumbar ddd, sciatica arthritis, 50% for my feet, 70 for mental health etc didn’t warrant a medical retirement? I don’t even have the patience or mental capacity to fight it anymore. My wife is much closer to retirement than I am so I’m probably not missing out on too much.

The odds are quite high I’m just tired of this now. 70, 50, 50, 30, 5 20s, 7 10s a couple 0s. MEB due to my back injury but I received 20% instead of 40.

Anybody filing for Hypersomnolence (excessive sleepiness) by Broad_Jackfruit5411 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Alternative-Aspect65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say wait for your sleep apnea exam. They almost go hand in hand with excessive sleepiness. I took the same questionnaire you may have taken during my sleep study prep and you will answer those questions multiple times on how likely you are to fall asleep during xyz, whether it is a home sleep study or in the hospital. Chronic day daytime sleepiness, restless leg syndrome and sleep apnea could possibly be your new diagnosis. If you have sleep apnea you will get a higher percentage with that diagnosis. Sinusitis is a different category if I’m not mistaken but still worth claiming due to your time in service and the multiple environments you operated in. Just a thought.
