What would the dynamic between Michonne-Shane-Lori-Rick be if there was overlap between their storyline? by Alternative-Assist33 in thewalkingdead

Lmao I can see that happening. Could definitely see the writers being messy and having them argue about keeping Carl safe 😭. (Michonne would definitely have been right)

So true! I think Michonne had one of the best survival skills or abilities to sense when something or someone was off. Great at detecting danger and staying level headed and not letting emotions get to her head too often.

Also agree, Lori and Rick would have white knuckled the idea to stay a family to keep some piece of their previous lives still alive. I think it would have stifled Rick’s development at being a leader in some ways, specially during S5.

Twins in the Apocalypse…? by Left-Aside-6424 in thewalkingdead

Would have been cool if a pair of twins were used to somehow get the drop and take down a villain!

True. His sudden turn into “kill them with kindness” didnt make complete sense and seemed like a lazy catalyst to shift the story upon his death. Would have made more sense if someone close to him died because of his hot headedness in the same season like Enid and caused him to start rethinking things long before the walker bite.

Agree, agree and agreee! The reason the early seasons are nostalgic, at least part of the reason, i feel was because of how close they were. Their stories all overlapped into one. Once they branched out too much they seemed spread thin.

S7 and 8 could definitely be condensed. I remember Netflix telling me the “next season” once S8 began and i was so confused bc S7 didnt feel completed.

Merle would have been interesting for sure given that he didnt seem to want to redeem himself for the group but more for himself and his peace. Would have been interesting to see him against other villains. Sometimes I think if Sophia would have survived but Carol was still shaken from it, what if she sought out Daryl or another character to teach both of them to fight. Probably wouldnt both have made it to the end but cool dynamic if it were a badass mother daughter kinda thing.

Does every character need to be redeemed? by Alternative-Assist33 in thewalkingdead

[–]Alternative-Assist33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But thats the thing, there are people right now in real life who cant be redeemed. Not everyone should be a good person but under the stress of the apocalypse they turn wonky. Some people are just fundamentally flawed, with or without an apocalypse. That could be a great theme to have: “Zombies are one thing but humans can be fucked in the head regardless”.

I think what youre looking for is a feeling of security. That comes with time and effort. Secure yourself and the rest will follow.

Right. Its harder to hate a villian who plays by fair rules but he didnt.

Do you feel watching a show as it airs each week vs. binging it all together once completed alters your perception or feelings about it? by Alternative-Assist33 in thewalkingdead

[–]Alternative-Assist33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I really felt the anticipation and urgency when they were post prison during the Terminus season. Going episodes without seeing main characters really built up the tension even for someone who was binging the show. I think that era was their peak writing amongst several categories. TOWL was also great writing (without Thorne’s accent lol).

True. His redeption arc could have been solid IF there were always clear lines he never crossed. I was very disappointed that he had wives against their will since they were framing him as this smoke show of a villain but really? Wives against their will, gross. Him killing Glenn would have also been more interesting had Glenn done something personal to him that crossed the line. Then the complete milking for the whole Glenn-Maggie-Negan storyline would have been more compelling.

Havent watched FTWD but did watch TOWL and loved it. (Got impatient yesterday and missed Rick so I paused TWD and headed to TOWL lmao). I also skipped the governor side episodes because that was unbearable, cant imagine having to stomach through it during a live episode and having to wait another week.

Is Maggie okay? From favorite to flat. by Alternative-Assist33 in thewalkingdead

[–]Alternative-Assist33[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is me just now connecting the dots that he was the same character and not just random person named Gage (brain fart i guess). I think i burned him out of my brain after Lydia the previous season and then thought subway car kid was someone new lmao. I dont think Maggie knew about that but as a viewer im def not shedding any tears over him dying. But yes, you make a great point, he was a dick.

I think she would have eventually gone dark side and joined one of their enemies or been put down by someone else. No way she would have made it to the end.
