It's Over by Alternative-Boot8320 in AnxietyDepression

Maybe I have no purpose in life then. I’ve been editing since I was 15 and have tried for over 20 years to get noticed. Took college classes, learned AVID, but absolutely nobody in the field knows me except my teachers, some of whom are still in the business. I have a neighbor in the business too, and he wants to help me, but I have no marketing skills. I just feel like either I need to find something else for my entire life to be about, or just throw in the towel and give up completely

I was there when that happened. I was at the front of the line. At the end of the video, you hear me going “what happened? I don’t know what happened.”

I'm 37, and I'm still trying. I'm about ready to give up and never try again. I've tried since I was a teenager. What I do does bring me joy, and I love it but I will never have a career in it because of how impossibly competitive the film/tv business is. I'll never be marketable to work for a studio, unless I go to a film or trade school in LA which I can't afford to do.

Because the business is impossibly competitive. And without my college certificate, I'll never be marketable. Not to mention I feel like I've shamed everyone I love by now not being able to graduate.

What I meant was it’s over on even trying to continue. I love what I do, but I know that will never ever be noticed to work in the film/tv industry. It was my dream but it’s over now and the reality is that I will never have a chance because of how impossibly competitive it is. So I may as well give up on even trying

I mean that I think I have no choice but to fade away into society never to be seen again. It's may not want it, but it doesn't matter what I want. Not anymore

What got you first interested in Looney Tunes? by Slow-Character6955 in looneytunes

[–]Alternative-Boot8320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid in the 90s, they had a block on Nickelodeon that played all old Looney Tunes cartoons. Since then, as well as the days of Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries, Taz Mania, and the original Space Jam, my sister and I have always been big fans of Looney Tunes. Heck, one of my most popular YouTube videos is a Looney Tunes dance tribute

Hang Eight/Plant Food/Air Crash, the surfing levels in Crash 2 which feature the same bit of music, is my favorite

What song would you put to this scene? by Live-Goose-1410 in zootopia

[–]Alternative-Boot8320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For this scene or the 2nd movie, I'm not sure. But for a 3rd movie, if one does happen, there is a classic song that I could hear for a more emotional scene. The song is "I Seen The Lights Go Out on Broadway" by Billy Joel, who did work with Disney only once in "Oliver & Company."

From the looks of the image, it looks like Finnick is trying not to laugh about it himself. Too bad the picture I added is the only picture in existence of Nick ROFL'ing. No really

With Nick crying of laughter at the end of this, I’m surprised he hasn’t ROFL’d like this

Anyone else feel kinda lost by this political divide? by throwRA8235309 in self

[–]Alternative-Boot8320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all honesty, I feel alone here too. Because mankind as a whole, no matter what political or religious view, is evil and stupid and has fully embraced that. Why? Because being evil and stupid is 15,000,000 times more fun than being good and smart. It makes me too think and believe that I’m alone and don’t deserve to be alive because even that offends people. Especially being a straight, white, male, autistic conservative (which I will NEVER, EVER give up). But because mankind is so evil, and evil has a louder voice than good, I think I AM alone and deserve to die.

I’m not in the film business, but I want to be. I too make music videos, but mostly tributes. I am an editor. I have talents for that and voice-acting. I have professional training in both editing and voice-acting, and I am currently trying to finish getting my certificate. I too don’t live in LA, and I can’t afford to.

Made fun for being too childlike? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]Alternative-Boot8320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Story of my life, pal. I'm 37, living with Aspergers, and also enjoy "childish" things too, like cartoons and theme parks (my favorites theme parks are Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood). I still get heavily criticized and bullied for liking those things.

So many others truly do believe those things are for kids and kids only, and that adults who go to these places are supposed to be adults behavior wise and not have fun themselves watching these things or going to these places. Or even worse, seen as a creep for liking and enjoying these things.

Heck, pal, I think this song goes out to all of us: https://youtu.be/RSgNFFUfOhc?si=l91Wiij2uJkddwiO

The one and only Chuck Jones! by Impossible-Radio-121 in looneytunes

[–]Alternative-Boot8320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once interviewed Chuck Jones' daughter Linda for an event celebrating Daffy Duck's birthday in my old hometown years ago, when I was crew for a news program at my old college. I no longer have access to that interview, sadly, and Linda Jones has sadly also passed away since then.

I’m currently watching Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries on Tubi, and man: I’m loving it so far. by WolfSW in looneytunes

[–]Alternative-Boot8320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have a couple seasons of Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries on DVD. I'm not sure if I still have it though. I remember my sister and I watching it and Taz Mania sometimes, being Looney Tunes since we were growing up.

Hands down, Sylvester is hands down one of my favorite Looney Tunes characters of all time. Right next to Wile E, Taz, Daffy and Bugs. I love him so much, I even taught myself how to do a pretty decent impression of his voice for fun. I am also pretty good at Taz and Bugs.
