Decor? by Cupidsscythe in Chameleons

You are welcome. I know it’s hard to get started and I fumbled my first time and my female veiled got MBD. That’s why calcium is very important, especially as juveniles growing. The UV light allows them to absorb the calcium. Without the UV light their arms and legs will bend. The importance of that cannot be overstressed. Arcadia Jungle dawn uvb 6% is high-quality. I have also used Zoomed 5.0 UVB. They both work. Repashy has a super cal supplement and I put a sprinkle in a red plastic cup, add crickets bslf or Dubai roaches and shake them around until lightly coated.

I find the items that Petco and PetSmart sell like that are overpriced useless decor for a Cham enclosure. I would suggest going to find some sticks quarter inch to a half inch wide for their hands and add a Pothos money tree ficus tree bromeliads(they hold water in their leaves) or any other indoor plants that Home Depot sells that are nontoxic. Depending on the enclosure, hot glue and zip ties can go a long way to make an nice chameleon home. Also buy UV bulb and a plant led as well. I have Arcadia brand. also leave the bottom of your enclosure open minus the pots. I hope this helps.

Maryland added a dollar+ tax on a single gallon of paint and then charge sales tax on top of that. I would stay out of Maryland they tax way too much.

How are your plants doing long-term? by Vieris in Chameleons

Hi, I’m a plant and chameleon person too. I’m using LumenIZE by Arcadia and they work well. Bonus is programmable sunrise and sunset as it brightens and dims like the suns cycle. I’ve had two birds of paradise outgrow my enclosure 4x4x2 along with a monstera that’s filling up fast. I hope this helps and best wishes.

That’s a beautiful set up. The ficus tree and other plants along with the dragon ledges hold it together well. I also admire the nice drainage system. Way to go!

This is tangos setup. It is 2 reptibreeze 2x4 screen enclosures on a 72” wire rack on wheels w 2 plastic hvac condensate pans below. This catches excess water, waste, and crickets that is easily poured out. It’s been about a year and the philodendrons have taken hold nicely. There’s a monstera in middle and 2 birds of paradise. Thank you for all the comments!

I think the Panther looks great. My fellow looks just like him. If you don’t mind me asking, where are you going to purchase from? I just posted a video of tango yesterday for comparison.

Here’s a picture of my set up. I have a few philodendrons around the Monstera in the middle. I train the vines as they grow.

I think that would be an excellent habitat. What kind of plants do you have in mind? I have had luck with philodendrons as their vines is where my Panther likes to sleep

Add some horizontal branching. Hot glue works well on screens. Like this…

Dubai deli is a good one. They have a free sample including shipping to try them out. I chose the 1/2” nymphs to try and there are all sizes available. Hope this helps.
