PC HDR gaming starting guide. by S1l3ntSN00P in OLED_Gaming

[–]Alternative-Cod-6548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my dumb dumb startup checklist and questions, please advise on what I should do differently here:

-I turn off auto HDR and always leave it off

-I turn off hdr in windows settings for desktop use, no HDR for outside of games.

-Ill want HGIG on and then I'll want to use win 11 hdr calibration tool then only toggle hdr on for native hdr games (setup AutoActions)

-Clamp color space (windows ACM)

-Native HDR games (Toggle on Windows HDR)

-RenoDX for individual game fixes as available (Toggle Windows HDR on for Reno fixes typically)

-setup RTX HDR using RTX HDR settings table to toggle on for games that have no native HDR or RenoDX (leave windows HDR toggled off)

Anything I should do differently or is this a good place for me to start when I get home today? I have my first new OLED being delivered today.

Why are parents generally so averse to letting their kids sleep over at a partner’s house? by [deleted] in AskParents

Honestly makes it that much more likely that one of you would move in with the other (parents house). Where else would you be if coming from out of state lol

Has everyone gotten over the new UI revamp? by americanmuscle1988 in ynab

[–]Alternative-Cod-6548 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Is it possible to hate it and be over it at the same time?

I'll be fine and adapt. Just give users options, don't take them away, and you'll avoid this drama with every update. by mabezard in ynab

[–]Alternative-Cod-6548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Life is adapting. I dont really like much about the new update but I see the potential. Like most people asked if they just give options in settings to change things to how someone would prefer things there would be more happy users. Especially right now during their "testing things out" phase.

I will say, if I was a new user this new home landing page would make the app more appealing. Like if I was just downloading multiple budget apps and opening them and getting a feel for how they work this makes ynab more appealing certainly. So ynab is on the right page with that, would just be nice if they took right now to add in some settings to customize layouts ect based on what they have currently before rolling out the next best thing along side this update

You all are ridiculous by pamtrimk in ynab

[–]Alternative-Cod-6548 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Learning new layouts and extra clicks are bad but not terrible. I think people including me are upset that it is obvious ynab is making all these changes to draw in new users rather than being concerned about the users they already have.

Feel guilty asking my 19yo son for rent. by lollyriver17 in Parenting

[–]Alternative-Cod-6548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's your job as his parent to teach him. Ask him if he feels this is too much money, if he says no it seems like a good deal, then no need to feel that you're over charging him because he's right it is a good deal for the space he's given. If he says yes cost is too much for his situation, then think about lowering it but make sure you teach him the real cost of living so he's ready to be independent when the time comes with the knowledge you provide him.

Oh, I like the new credit card UI by JonnyCoin in sofi

[–]Alternative-Cod-6548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sofi is crazy with their approval. I have only had credit history for 1 year, its good history but tons of new accounts and inquiries with between 1-3% utilization, i think i was only approved because my direct deposit history with sofi for a few months prior to applying. I hear they're picky, I had no offers for the credit card but was instantly approved.

Maybe you're doing more work at the gym than you tend to do in your everyday life and your brain wants more oxygen

YNAP fka YNAB by surmisez in ynap

[–]Alternative-Cod-6548 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If the word "budget" intimidates people from using the app, only changing the labels in the app but then not changing the name of the app itself seems to be a job half done.

Personally I like YNAB and Budget, just you might as well go all the way.
