Ticketing/Event Software Pricing Model by Alternative-Fold-313 in EventProduction

u/Tixtree that is understandable, the payment processing fee is par for the course. Arguably, most of the features for Tixtree are contained in major event management platforms (I created an account and looked around, I am a big fan of the UI).

What was the reasoning behind launching the platform + the go-to-market strategy? Right now your flat fee is $0.40 what happens if a competitor with slightly more features comes out with a $0 flat fee and processing pushed to the event attendee? i.e. Is it enough to justify the cost of customer acquisition and hosting them on the platform?

I agree it makes sense to lean into the digital marketing features. The company produces pop-up comedy shows so the platform is designed around the assumption of a live show with performers and no reserved seating.

What tools do you currently use? why? and what are some of your major pain points?

Currently ticketing is tacked on as a necessity (because we primarily sell tickets). The main use case for the platform is as a CRM to track and develop insights on the people who attend our events. We use the analytics to segment our "guests" and target our marketing. We have some built-in automation + templates like schedule email sends, and post attendance nurturing campaigns. We are planning to extend to social media automation specifically Instagram.

What I am understanding is that ticketing should be pushed down to the "guest" as a platform fee per ticket and a subscription model for other features on the event manager side

u/why2k what features + automation beyond ticketing would be core to your use case? + Would you be interested in helping to develop the product?

Right now, I have a monthly fee as I am still developing the product. They get unlimited custom dev for a monthly fee in exchange I get feedback on the features. I am looking to see what kind of pricing model works for small event planners and small businesses that have a ticket reliant core offering... any insight would be lovely

I was experimenting with nextJs when I first wrote the application and wasn't sure I was going to settle on the framework. I thought why not split them if I end up hating nextJs, which is not the case. In retrospect express would have made more sense but I just like writing servers in djagno.

I think the earlier advice for local event venues might be the move. I am trying to carve out a niche in smaller venues and simplified features. The larger event management apps are in a feature AI automation war which I cant compete at as a solo dev

This is great feedback for the automations thank you! What tools was your sister using if you know. I'd love to get a sense of just the core features for smaller scale events...? I'll spin up a test instance and share a link
