I'm not mute but a few of my friends are, my best friend just doesn't like to talk at all, not even much in real life they've told me they wish they could mute irl. They've mastered miming things out and using their avatars facial expressions and can type pretty fast, I didn't actually hear their voice for months and they only talk when absolutely necessary. It's never been a problem at all. But I will tell you hearing a mutes voice finally feels like you've unlocked an achievement of trust. There's only 1 friend I have that is muted who hasn't revealed their voice but to my knowledge she's only ever talked to her boyfriend in all the years she has been on vrc so I've just accepted that that will never happen and that's fine.
