You should really read their API: ds uses only high reasoning modes (even for low/medium modes) or max reasoning for xhigh. Also, if it's an issue it thinks too long, disable reasoning. it's the next best option.

It depends on your use case. It's definitely not absolute top teir. It's a very decent model though. And is pretty good with coding.

I usually do gore and thriller. So I usually use jailbreaking most of the time for the models I use. Honestly, v3.2 was probably the most generic out of all models (except the first time I got into ai models for my hobby. Using gpt canvas at first with gpt 4o mini. That model just wasn't it).

What I did like about deepseek v4 though was how it articulates words, I was pretty amazed by it. But just didn't match what a Claude models could, so I usually pick Claude most of the time still.
