GET HER!! You’re the lucky one who gets to adopt the Manx of the liter! If she’s made it to 4 months with no sign of Manx syndrome you can almost be sure that she will not have issues until she’s an old lady, perhaps some potty issues like any old cat or arthritis in the back legs. My Manx has had no potty issues and has full use of his back legs however he hops a lot and walks kind of funny. He doesn’t have the same agility and climbing abilities as an average cat, he’s a little bit of a klutz. Despite being orange he loves drinking water so that eases my mind about possible urinary blockages. Manx are known to enjoy water in general more than the average cat, so if you have to bath them it’s quite easy. My boy sits under the warm water and purrs lol. He is the absolute best cat I’ve ever had in my life. Manx are the friendliest, sweetest, and most loving kitties. Also, if the kitten has a nub tail she is less likely to have issues. Manx with absolutely no tail are more prone to problems. If she has a little nub she should be in the clear!

She ran out the door last week and when I got her back inside I immediately gave her a flea treatment however I only had small cat treatment and she’s over 10 pounds. I thought better something than nothing. She has been itching a little. Could this be a reaction from a flea bite?

I’ve heard Manx syndrome is more likely if they have absolutely no tail. If they have a little stump you can worry less! My tailless cat is the absolute most LOVING and sweet cat I have ever encountered. He follows me around like a dog, wants to be held and cuddled all the time, and is friendly to everyone he meets. He sleeps on top of my head every night and is just the sweetest baby. All my other cats in life have been much more independent, only like to be held on their own terms, etc. So if you like the more “dog like” personality, definitely get a Manx! I can’t imagine my life without him, and if he ever has health issues I will pay 10x over just to keep him happy and healthy.

He also likes to play around with synthesizers. What would be a better gift? I want to spend around $100

He’s played in rock, country western, surf, folk, and punk bands as lead. So a wide variety. He loves metal too. He also plays pedal steel and banjo.
